Depends on what your looking to gain.
more gas, more oil, maybe 3-5 mph in speed...
Im looking to gain a fresher powerhead. Mine has estimated 600 hrs. My buddy has a crashed boat with 60 hrs on it.I would like to know if the powerheads only can be swapped?
Thanks Botto
Just curious, but why not just change the entire engines. Also, Mike Lohn will know this, but doesn't the 250 have a different gear ratio? Your 225 is 1.81:1.

Is there any draw backs between the 1.75 and the 1.81. Other than gear ration would the 250 powerhead bolt up to my 225? Would i have to change out the lower units? I thought i could just switch the powerheads. Both engines are th e 3.1 ox66.
Thanks Botto
They will bolt right up, but you will need more pitch in your prop with the 1.81 vs: 1.75
