Question Power Pole Dropping on its own while sitting

I think my power pole needs Viagra ...

When I have the boat parked after a period of a few days the Power Pole slowly deploys until it hits the ground and stops.

I'm assuming I have a leak somewhere in the hydraulic lines? Would this be where to begin to diagnosis the problem?

    Thanks

Start with the basics, check all the fittings. A set at the pump, and a set at the PP. If there's a leak you should find it pretty easy.

Probably a stuck valve in the pump. Call 813-689-9932 Ext 2. If the pump is under warranty it will be handled. Have your serial number handy or if you regestired the pole you can just provide them with your info

Its been alittle while since I posted the original question. I finally got a chance to go out and look at boat/Power Pole. I purchased the boat used (from Here ... great transaction!) with the Pole installed. From looking at the pump I can see its leaking from the "Blue Connection" to the pump. It has alot of play and when I move the line it visibly leaks at this connect

Can I cut the line and put a new connection on?

That is a quick connect. If you push in on the ring you can then pull out the hose. Trim the end of the hose with a razor and put it back in. If it still leaks you need to replace the fitting, which you can get from PowerPole.

I had the same problem, but with a split in the blue hose. The guys at J and L hooked me up with new lines and a new fitting that I jacked up.

Not to step on Mike's toes but when you push the hose in you have to hold the ring on the fitting in while you pull the hose out. They have actually changed the fitting type on the new poles to a nut and ferrule.
