Hope they have a 20" 200Hp 4 stroke.

I don't see how they can't. It's just the 250 head detuned. I'd suspect a 250 first, but to not make the "Sport" like larger would be foolish. I love my 225 Sport, and I'm not the only one. It whips the standard 225's butt, and it's just a great motor.

I'd like to see a 175. A hopped up 175 would be awesome.
Just think of all the 18.5' boats (such as mine) out there that are max rated with 175's that if needed repowered would have to either go with 150's to keep from switching controls/etc; or switch brands (since to my knowledge Merc is the only 175 4s on the market right now).
Hopefully it will be a LONG time before I need to replace my HPDI.

I agree,, there is a void in that range of engines currently.
I agree on expanding the "sport" line. Heck, put the sport powerhead on a standard F225 and drop the current F225 powerhead.
For some reason, Yamaha skips the 175 range. It may be a smaller market and they figure either get a 150 or 200. I don't see many 4 stroke 175's and they are all Suzukis.
I hope they keep updating the motors with newer technology and trying to find ways to lose some weight on the 4 strokes.

Yamaha currently does not produce a 20" 200 4 stroke.....
4 strokes are the future and I think sooner than most think.
doesn't mean we have to like it.

Still waiting to see what happens.

Did anyone notice on this weekends BASSMASTERs Elite Series from NY that ESPN aired? There was a quick shot of a couple of Yamaha Pros pimping something that looked like a 4-Stroke Yamaha to the public. I paused it (thanks to DVR) and it had on the back of the Cowl what looked (not 100% sure) to say "Variable Crankshaft Timing" going across the back.
Not sure if this is significant to anything "New" or not
You mean, "Variable Camshaft Timing?" That's on the F250 and F225 Sport (not on standard F225) powerhead. I have it on my motor. That's been out for a while, and helps with torque in the whole.

That must be it. It was hard to read it. Ok so thats old news. I have never had a 4 stroke pass me so I am not familiar with what the back of the cowls look like.

Here is the skinny on the new 4 stroke motors.Everyone that has gotten to see them has had to sign a confidentiallity agreement. So im pretty sure no one is going to say very much. With that being said ,rumor has it that they are not quit ready with the motor yet as far as performance.
I had lunch this past week with a pro angler who is qualified for the classic and currently runs a Yamaha. I have heard different rumors about the casting process for the blocks, and the new four strokes being lighter or as light as the two strokes, so I tried to pry information out of him. He told me he had to sign a confidentiallity agreement and all he could say is that the black motors are in big trouble. Look for the debut to be somewhere around the Classic in February.

Huh??? I didn't realize the black motors were "dominating" anything with the current motors? Seems to me they are not in a position to "be in trouble" Is he reffering to the Verado???

I think comments are more for the Bass Boat market. The Black Hat's do rule in numbers and marketing. I think the new Yamaha 4 Strokes if it's true will be a game changer in the 2 stroke market more specifically for Hole shot and WOT speed. Saltwater is another story. Hammers rule!
