    Bull Shoals Boat Dock ramp

Hi guys, I was down there working today and was idling back into the cove when I realized I should snap a few pics. This is the main ramp out on the point of the boat dock cove. The pics of the building up on the hill in the trees is Bel-Arco.....bad pic because of the sun.

Here's 9 pics of the cove from sitting in a new aluminum Ranger: Bull Shoals Boat Dock Photos by AnglersPortMarine | Photobucket

If you want to see some pictures of what I was doing down there, click on over to the Ranger board and check it out.

I don't know if this is the ramp everybody wants to use or not, but thought you would like to see what it looks like.

I hate that ramp....I try to never use it, especially when the water is low like it is now....It's a long way down, and a long way up that sucker, especially if you're the one parking the tow vehicle.............BSBD ain't much better, as it's a cluster trying to park there, too, when you have a bunch of boats......It's farther away, but most of the time we use the "dam" ramp at the State Park......But if you have a bad back and bad knees, none of them are good.......

Rick, do you like the Dam Site ramp better than the Lakeview ramp?

I do agree with you, the BSBD ramp is a pain. I have fished several big tournaments out of there and it is a mess with 100 trucks trying to get parked. It's probably pretty hard and very expensive to build a big flat ramp and parking area in those hills that are made of solid rock!

Hey Pete......Actually I do prefer the dam ramp over the Lakeview ramp, because the dam ramp is more protected from the wind, which makes unloading and loading easier.....it's also got a better parking area, I think, than the others. I never use the Lakeview ramp, and I live in Lakeview....It's too exposed to the winds, especially out of the south, north, and west when it blows, but it's a good ramp otherwise.....Parking is ok there....the only problem is that if you want to run up the lake towards Lead Hill or go to Theodosia area, you've got a longer run starting out, as opposed to BSBD......from the dam and LV ramps, you got an extra mile or two, which is ok if you plan to fish the lower lake......

What Rick said. The one at the Dam is easier because there is no hairpin turn at the top to make to be able to park. Both are a long walk from water to vehicle. Either is fine with me and will look forward to putting in at either one.......................RR

Shane, if you decide to take a dip, be sure and bring your swimming cap to keep your hair dry, and ditch the speedos......
