Glad to see you guys had a chance at some Reds. They're no doubt a fun fish to go after.

Wow... on my bucket list for sure. I have caught one red before but I want to catch 50 in a day and come in with sore arms

I'm just wondering if you smack him on the forehead does it all stand on end? No real man should have that much hair on his head. On his back and his ass is fine, but not on his head!

Perhaps when I'm as old and bald as you... who am I kidding, I'll never be that bald! Regardless, if I was I'd be jealous of my full head of hair too

Yep, was born and raised a few miles form there. Lake Cataouacthe is only a 15-20 min. ride from Lafitte. I was trying to catch some bass last week over there, and the redfish would not leave me alone....caught over 40 on a squarebill crank.

We used to redfish out of Shell beach at least once a year before Katrina. The biggest reds were always on the near shore oil and gas rigs. We could catch 25#+ until you arms burned off of those rigs.

You folks had an awesome trip! I have caught several reds in my time in Lower Alabama. Nothing fights like those bad boys!! They make a smallmouth seem tame!

Looks like a great trip! I prefer eating the trout over the reds, but enjoy catching them both and LOVE fishing that area. You'd really like Lake Salvador should you go back.

You guys are "livin' the dream"... I'm scared to go redfishin' From what I've been told, I'l absolutely quit bass fishin'... I know what happened when I caught my first big smallie on PW, so I can imagine what a red would do to me...

you'd get the itch but its not like bass fishing. if you are a serious bass fisherman that enjoys the challenge of bass fishing then there is nothing that will replace that. If you are strictly into fishing to catch fish no matter what they are then you might be in trouble

I'm a chunk and wind, hope that something besides the bait comes back kinda guy, especially something that pulls good, so I'm probably in trouble...
