Navionics charting questions - need help with charting?

Community Edits are not yet viewable on Humminbird. They've not added the "switch" to the menu system yet.

SonarCharts are viewable on both manufacturers. You need to refer to the Compatibility Guide (Compatibility at the lower right of most every page of the Navionics website) to see which plotters have the necessary "switch")

at this time, Humminbird users can also contribute to SonarCharts. Navico is view-only.

I have not seen any updates from my last 4 uploads??? It seems ever since your web update for uploading? I have not seen any changes????

i recently learned that as the processing times are continually accelerated, Freshest Data updates to chips can sometimes see the newly processed SonarCharts a few days ahead of the Web App reflecting the new changes.

Something to think of for you northern guys from Navionics

Record your sonarcharts now. Navionics will be launching SonarCharts on our mobile app within the next two months. Upload your logs now and be able to plan and fish using your iphone/ipad come ice season to see advanced detail and hit your spots. Do your research now and be ready come ice time with detail you would normally need in your boat.

THere are examples of what you can do now to prepare for winter in previous posts.

i recently learned that as the processing times are continually accelerated, Freshest Data updates to chips can sometimes see the newly processed SonarCharts a few days ahead of the Web App reflecting the new changes.

I see the NavionicsPC is updated before the Web App. That happened yesterday as I was updating Navionics PC and discussing missing features on Sonar Charts and Freshest Data with Paul.
Just checked and the Web App still doesn't have the updated Navionics map like PC has.

I don't update my card until I see changes on the Web App.

When I uploaded some recording today, there was a note stating it would be one week before being processed.

I would probably have jumped in on this if the web app wasn't included in the updates. If someone buys a card and is has my work on it that is fine as they at least paid for it. Just looking at the web-app?? Not so sure I like that.

I think it's a nice feature. Remember the idea is power in numbers as bodies of water, shorelines etc change. I've seen it as dramatic as yearly depending on the water system. I think it will make for a better overall product.

also, WebApp is just a viewer. Basically an up to date computerized paper map. No GPS, you'd have to buy product to really get the most out of it.

How do I register a new Navionics Premium SD South Card so I can refresh and enjoy the advertised free 1 year updates. I have searched the Navionics site several times and can't seem to find a link or instructions how to register.

I just bought the Navionics+ and I cannot register or log in to download the maps? I am using Firefox as a browser and I used Google Chrome and neither work. I created a name and tried to log in but, it won't let me know log on. Is anyone else having this problem? Whats going ?

Did you go to the Navionics web site and downloaded/installed the new software called Chartinstaller?

Yes I downloaded chartinstaller. Then it takes me to the navionics plus site then I cant log on

This is the Navionics+ card, there is nothing on the card no installation software or anything. I put it in without opening he chart installer program and does nothing. the instructions says you have to log into that Navionics+ site. I can not log in... I have tried to create a different name and tried again under a different email still no luck.

I did just that. Does not work. Don't know if it is a site issue or what. Sent an email to Navionics. No response from them.

send me or JD your email. Something is being missed. This is a problem we aren't having. Once you plug on the chart, you'll register, then download chart installer... I just thought of what it might be. Once you download the installer you should still have an open dialog box at the bottom from Navionics website. Go to that. This will how a screen of insert your chart and then have a "proceed" or "next" button. The installer will not. When you click that it will move to the next page and ask questions to help you download the right info. If this still doesn't work, send either of us your email and we will get you tech support. Google chrome will work.

I just got hotmaps premium. Updated on the website and put it in the 998 and 858 in simulation mode. It says no chart on both units. Does Navionics not work in simulation mode like Lakemaster? Is there something wrong with my new card?
