[QUOTE=brianl;10460722]Lots to read here. I bought 2 elite 9TI,s that came with Navionics + cards from Basspro. The mapping is terrible compared to my old units and hummingbird. I selected Navionics and its not much better than the factory map? Could I be missing something or are these cards not very good? I tried to look at Navionics site but found it very confusing. It sucks being old with these new electronics! Thank you in advance for any advise[/QUOTEAs andre said, make sure you register and update your card with the latest maps.

Then when you put your card in the unit go to Charts, Menu, More Options and turn on the SonarChart layer.

    Thank you,
I’m in Australia and have never seen it appear on my units even though my settings are all good so that explains it.

1st You need a Platinum card with a active subscription and you also need to download the sonarchart shading and I don't think it's available in youre country

    Click on sonarchart shading: https://www.navionics.com/usa/

Paul, My new/used Ranger has a HDS 9 Gen 3 at the console and a HDS 7 Gen3 on the bow, do either one of these have internal maps? There were not any cards in the units, what would be your recommendation for my units in Kansas?

Hotmap Platinum South. If you link both units by Ethernet you will be able to view map on both units.

    Hi.
I have question about a symbol I see a lot of on my Precision Contour HD C-map chip that I can't find an explanation for.

It's a red shaded area, usually rectangular or square with a dotted out line.

Does anyone out there know what this indicates?

    Thanks

    -Dean

You better ask on the Lowrance forum. This tread is for Navionics questions

I may have messed up my Navi card. Can anyone help?

I have a hand full of mico-sd cards and may have wrote over my navionics card. Can anyone tell me what brand and size these cards are? None of my cards indicate anything about Navionics. I have some 2gb, 8gb, 16gb, and a 64gb mico sd card(s). All different brands.
Any help would be great. It's the 'Navionics+, Region: west'.

    Must be a 8 or a 16gig.
Use the adapter and insert it in youre computer and you going to see Navionics. Scandisk are what they use.

Great. Thank you. I thought it was the 16gb. However, when I put it in my Lowrance it asks if I wanna load the Navi chart. I say yes, but It never loads anything. When I put the chip in my computer(which is what I did when I started to encounter issues) it opens the SD card as a folder, and opens Navionics chart installer.

Not working in my LOW or HB. When it always used to.

Any help would be awesome. Thank you

Close the Navionics Chart Installer software and go to the drive that you put the card in.
Open that drive and click on the Navionic folder. THAT is the maps.

Post all the folders displayed for the card along with the Navionic folder. You cannot overwrite that map folder since you don't own the software to put data there.

I am a bit confused by the directions. If I go to the drive it shows:
    Code:
    .Spotlight-V100
    Garmin
    Navionic
    System Volume Information
    config.xml
    eligibility.xml
    nTag.txt
Is the nTag number, the serial number of the card its to go on?

    Thanks for the help
