Wallyandre is 100% correct. Let me add...for step by step specific instructions, go o the Lowrance/Sonar board here on BBC . In the past few days this has been a topic under "Can you recover Waypoints".... See my posts # 4, #8, #14 with instructions on how to export or purge, and save etc.."managing" waypoints and saving to your card. GL

NEW Navionics Maps for 62 Iowa lakes! Update your card and take advantage!! To view if these are lakes you fish, check the Navionics Chart Viewer!

I just purchased and installed a navionics+ regions card in a hook 7 and when running down the river all I get is a white screen. It's like the unit can't keep up with the map. When idleing it does fine, didn't have this problem before I got the card, the default Lowrance map showed fine. Is this normal? Maybe unzooming some? Any help would be appreciated.

Probably to much data on the card for the unit to process that fast....nothing with what your doing, just the processing speed of the unit......yes try zooming out and see if that helps.....since it is a + card try installing just lake/river you are fishing at that time instead of a whole state, assuming thats what you are doing....

There is an update for the Hook that is a big improvement for the gps speed
I have the update on the unit, I put it on there earlier this year.
I have installed the Chart installer on my computer, registered the card and it's picking it up correctly as a Navionics+ Regions South but it's not giving me the pins to select certain lakes. Just has the full updates on the left. So I'm guessing this is a preloaded card and I need to erase the data first? Not real sure

Here is a video from Josh Douglas where he talks about the plus cards....check it out and see if this helps.

Yep, the card was preloaded with everything in the south region. I purged the card and am now downloading only my usual lakes and sections of the river. Hopefully that will help.
Appreciate the help as usual

Yes, def too much data for a Hook. I always tell those with units that have a slower processor than that of the top of the line to purge the card and load what they need. In my opinion, this is a HUGE feature from Navionics for those with entry-level or older units.
question for a friend. He has an LMS 520c with an OLD map card and I have a few questions. The card he has says HM239xl on it and I have no idea what it is. Is it HotMaps, fishing hotspots or what? I know the Navionincs+ will work on this unit but will this card work for Navionics updates? Also what's the last of the Navionics HotMaps premium that will work with this unit? He can get a Navionics HotMaps premium E6 but no idea whether this was one of the bigger than 2g cards or not. The problem is our local lakes were updated to HD a couple years before Navionics started going to the bigger cards. So if that card will work is there a way to check and see what HD lakes are on it? Thanks for any help!
HM239XL, I think is one that has coverage for coastal/offshore. Currently what Hotmaps Platinum regions are.
Updateable Navionics Hotmaps Premium cards for the East Region are E6 since they started in mid 2010 up until they were discontinued at the end of 2015.
The first three versions were 1 GB and then went to 2GB when the amount of coverage increased beyond the 1GB card's capacity. Premium cards could never have the Sonar Charts map layer added so 2GB is the largest.
You can use most any map card to activate a Navionics Update card. That card is 16GB though and becomes Navionics+ Preloaded for all of the US and Canada.
What is the source for "He can get a Navionics HotMaps premium E6"? If used, have the owner check the waters in question.

The HM239XL card has the same lakes as the region cards have, but it shows no detail at all, like 25ft contours. That's why he's trying to find something better. If I'm understanding you right, The E6 cards could be anywhere from 1GB to 2GB and ran from 2010 to 2015, correct? If that's the case any of them should work on the 520c that he has, correct? If he updates the card that has with Navionics updates will it NOT work with the 520c since it's, as you said, a 16GB? On Navionics' website it shows that the Navionics+ and Navionics updates are the only new cards they make that will work on the 520 is why I'm asking. He's just a fun fishing guy so he doesn't care about all the expensive toys for his boat and he's trying to upgrade a little in as inexpensive a way as he can. All he said is that he knows someone that has an old card that they would sell him if he needed it and they said it was an E6.
You need the Navionics Update 2gig not easy to find so call or email Navionics
If you/he is unsure of the Premium card size ASK the owner to verify its size.
The Navionics site shows the 520c is compatible with the 2GB version of either Navionics+ or Navionics Update.
A local store had some 2GB Navionics+ and Update cards A distributer/rep took them and replaced them with the new 16GB versions when they came out. I had purchased a 2GB version just before that and was going to get another one.

For those of you near the Sam Rayburn area or may be attending this weekend's Sealy Big Bass Splash...
I just bought a new Navionics Plantinum card. Trying to go through the register/update process and the installer is just says "Detecting...it may take a few minutes". Has been just flashing that message forever, and won't go any further. I've tried everything I know to do.
Anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks!
