Navionics charting questions - need help with charting?

I have been working through the functions that Lowrance/Navionics combinations will perform. Let me be the first to tell you that I am not an IT guy but I was AMAZED at what could be done with the Platinum card in an HDS. A huge shout out to prostaff1 (Tommy) for taking the time to walk me through the concepts of changing settings and functions to get the information I was looking for and more importantly why! The views are easier for your eyes to pick out features and focus on the high percentage areas. Thanks Again!!

I have an Elite Ti 7 on the console, originally purchased the Nav+, is it worth the price to upgrade to the plat hot using an Elite 7? Wasn't sure if only the HDS units took advantage of the features. I know it won't be the same, but I know some software features aren't worth the extra cost if you don't have the higher level hardware. Did I ask that correctly or muddy the water?:)

If you look at the file post by Wayne the Ti can read the Platinum and it does the same as the HDS.
In my part of the world the Platinum is very limited but for youre part of the country it could be very different

I always recommend the Navionics + card for those running Elite Ti units. The processor is the main difference between the HDS and and the Elite models. The fact that you can only load what you need on the card allows the Elite to run faster.

Sorry need to rephrase, Ti has a stronger processor completely sufficient for running the Platinum card. I was referring to the Elite models. My bad....

My wife just purchased a Navionics Hot Maps Platinum for me for my birthday. Before I open the box can you tell me if it will work on my Elite 7 HDI? Thanks. Kid at BPS assured her that it works on the Elite units.

If you check the link in post #1343, you will see it does not.

Can't just use "Elite" as a criteria for what is compatible.

Will sd/prem-n3 be compatible with hds 9 gen2 touch? Bought this on ebay before i landed here and hadnt done as much homework as i shoulda! I have a platinum card to so no worries but will sell the n3 it no worky!!!

No problem with that card, it is small compared to the Platinum card. N3 is North Region for 2007.

Does enabling community edits on my cards when I update slow the unit down? Someone told me this. Is it even of any benefit?

The Hotmaps Platinum has satellite overlay, 3D, and port photos.

There are two versions of Navionics+:
Navionics+ Preloaded has all the maps for the US and Canada
Navionics+ Region has the same coverage as the Hotmaps Platinum

The maps are exactly the same if updated the same day.

Some do especially the newest edition since you get more settings with newer Lowrance units or newer unit software.

There are a few threads in the forum about it.

I personally don't use anything on a Platinum card but the Nautical Charts and Sonar Charts.

I have a hotmaps platinum card that I'm trying to update and keep getting a pop up that says my card is full. I have tried to email navionics several times and called numerous times for support with no luck. The card is a 8 Gb hotmaps platinum. How can I get in contact with someone to help ?

Could take 2-3 days before you got a answer. Describe the problem, include the serial # of the card.
