Has anyone else had this problem? I start the motor and it starts right up but when I start to accelerate it sounds like its starving for fuel the motor still runs but has only half the power it should? It happened twice last summer once I just shut it and fished for a while the other time I pumped the ball which was already hard, started it and took off and that was it. Was wondering if anyone has any Ideas to what this might be?
probably fuel pump diaphrams... Have you tried new plugs?

Yeah I put new plugs in at the begining of the year. Are the fuel pump diaphrams just something youd pull out and replace?
Don't know if its the same thing but when i trim it all the way down and idle until i take off, mine does something similar. Only happens when i use it for the first time or two that day. I think it just has something to do with it being a carb motor and fuel not getting "injected". Is that right about "injected". Not a mechanic so correct me if i'm wrong. If that's what's going on don't worry.

If you kept the hammer down would it kick in or do you have to let down and go again? Mne would not go it just sounded doggy until I pumped the ball and started the motor again.

Mines a little doggy at first but once I get going it clears out. I figured it was just loading up.
