nice clean lookin rig. even the trailer looks perfect. congrats on the new ride.
Beauty! I bought mine 2 days ago and the afterglow is still strong.
thanks. i do have a couple of questions about it. what prop works best on these. it has a 4 blade 25 pitch right now i am unsure of the brand. also how do these 18 foot boats handle the rough water. past few times i have been out in fairly choppy day it has beat me up. im still learning how to drive it so that could be part of it.
Nick,
sweet ride
try to come over to Beaver in October and I'm sure there will be a handful of guys who might know a few things about getting you set up.

congrats great boat i had a g183 looked just like yours except single console
I have a gt183 with a 200hp johnson. My doesnt like rough water at all, I am looking for a 25p 4 blade for mine, preferably "shooter".
I am doing a re wire on mine right now and it is being a pain in the butt.
Mine is a single console and I love it!!!! I hope you enjoy yours!!!
What year model? I think Gambler changed the hull design some in 1992. Many GT183's like 8 to 12 inch jack plates. A little more setback helps hole shot and driving. I would think a 25 pitch may be on the high side. A 24 pitch trophy may be a good prop. I do not have as much experience as some on here, but I would think a Tempest or Trophy will be good props for you. I worked Trophy should do real well.
dclong9009 - I don't think you want a "Shooter" prop. Most say the shooter performance is not good at all. I picked up Renegade Bass prop a few years ago and ran it on my GT183. I really liked the prop. I sold the prop and went to a Trophy, but the Renegade Bass is a good prop.
its a 89. my rpms are around 5800 so i was unsure if i should lower my pitch.
Congrats on the G-boat
To understand how your current prop is performing, you will need to list your GPS speed, rpm's at that speed, and the prop to pad measurement (how deep your prop is in the water). This will indicate how much prop slip. If your prop is slipping too much, the 5800 rpm's may not be a good benchmark for a new prop to decide which pitch prop. With a worked prop, your prop will have additional cup and other changes. These changes will add about 1" of pitch to your prop.
Good luck.
Nice boat, I'm pretty close to you in coweta, if I can help let me know.

i have had it to around 63mph on gps at 5800. if i keep triming it up i start to chine walk and i still havent got that down yet. but it feels like it has more in it. i have never measured the prop to pad but someone has moved the motor as high as it will go. and i will keep that in mind brad
Like the red!!! Congrats!
Cool lookin rig!!! Love the red.
