Our new 2005 Premier pontoon has a 115 4-stroke motor. I picked it up in may and when we quit using it several weeks ago it had 108 hours on the hour meter. It ran flawless everytime. The fuel economy was very good if you cruised around 3,000 to 3,500. It still done very good if you pulled tubes all day. The 6 year warrenty was a key factor in buying this motor along with all the research I did before buying one. It has great power for being on a 25' pontoon boat. Our top speed has been 31mph. Our boat is a 2 tube model with lifting strakes. We are very pleased with our purchase. We look for to many years in this boat.
My 2000 model bass boat has a 150EFI mercury which also has been very good considering its used from ice out till ice up 3 days a week. It does like the gas though.

The Super Six 150 was made from 1986-1991 and it was a tuned up DT150. I have heard that it was pushing close to 175 HP (this was before the horsepower restrictions variance from posted ratings) in the last two years of production with the 2 spark plugs per cylinder models. I have heard they did it with higher compression and better carbs but I could be wrong. This engine was specially developed to meet the need of the high performance bass boat market. Back then the 150 was the engine of choice for professional fishermen.

Thanks for the explanation.
I own a 2003 115 H.P. Four Stroke hanging on a 1996 1740 Challenger (can see pics in the owners gallery). Very impressed with this engine, especially the 6 year warranty that came with it. Very good gas mileage. I average about 4 gallons of gas during a ten hour fishing trip on the Tennessee River in North Alabama. I bought engine new and have had no problems as of yet.
Welcome to that Suzuki forum eddie3260!!!!!
