Oxygenator

Anybody install on Oxygenator on their 211Alpha? Any advice on installation, I.e. access to live well and wiring it to battery......thanks

I have two in my 211 legend, I had the factory put mine in.. I bet you have to take your fuel tank out to install them.

I have a 199 and have 1 installed. I'm with Jason on this topic, as big as the livewells are in the Legend I would go with 2, I wish I had 2. It's worth every penny when you are not losing weight for dead fish penalties. I have never lost a fish with Oxygenators. I also am a stickler for fish care too. The fish will nose right up to the Oxygenator, they like it.

Okay, but factory install is not an option. Can I assume that cover (Legend logo on it) that is screwed to the back wall in front of the gas tank would give me access to the livewells? It looks like I can remove as I can see the livewell pumps below it. Does this make sense?

Since then wells are divided you still suggest going with two of them????

Yes, it is a fairly easy install. You would drill your holes form the inside of the well. Call the factory and ask for Lou, he can give you a heads up where to run the wires for the Acc switch. I believe the acc wires are in the batt compartment.

Thanks man. Some guys wiring these thing directly to the battery and not thru the Acc switches since they only draw power when water touches them. and apparently they draw very little power. So is it necessary to have them on a switch?

I had mine wired to a switch so I can turn them off when in saltwater. They are not recomended for saltwater. I'm never in saltwater but in brackish water sometime, so when I do go I don't use the oxygenators.

The Oxygenators are very easy to install. Wireing direct to the battery cause no problems with power draw. It draws so little power to the light on the unit your battery will go dead from not charging long before it does from the light. Cutting the hole in the livewell is easy ( locate and mark the center of the hole to cut, then cut from the inside of the well. Care must be taken to ensure the hole is cut clean to aviod leakage around the unit after installation. The Legend livewells are large enough I would recommend using 2 units..one on each side. Worth every penny..More is always better and dead fish penalties can cost you a lot of $.

Hey Guys, I had been wondering if i would find a forum on this topic. I've got a 2004 LE-21 and I have one small oxygen stone in one side and fixing to add this new one to the other side. As mentioned dead fish are no good. I've replaced my flapper valve a few weeks ago being that I was loosing water along with G Juice. That cost me 2 lbs which would have been nice to have. Anyway my live wells are tight and not much room between the space behind the wall into the bilge area. Is there someone with more photos that they can post? I know this is an old thread so i hope someone will see this and kindly respond....
