Cool Renewed Gauges & Dashboard Facelift

The original 1996 gauges were working OK, but I had to add a gauge for the new Atlas jackplate so it was time to re-do the dash.

    • New Mercury Flagship line of gauges from European Marine
    • Bezels from Pitstop Marine. Keeping the old-school look in the middle with the flasher. Got a bezel on the way for it too (ordered the wrong size originally ). I actually still use it just for depth when running, but would like to update it if I can find the right replacement.
    • Replaced the speed-o with a wired remote to the Fusion stereo head-unit.

Thanks to the BBC sponsors for great service & pricing!!

That looks great. It really matches your flake on your boat. I already have Faria guages but my dash would look nice with bugandy bezels. May have to look into that.

I would say it's more tedious than hard. I'm pretty anal about keeping things neat. Alot depends on how much bastardization has occurred in your dash wiring & how hard it is to get to. I spent alot of time curled up in a fetal position on the floor of the boat under the dash getting very familiar with every wire & labeling everything and taking a few pics before I unplugged a single one.

At first I thought I would just do 1 at a time without removing the "dashboard", but trust me... it was much easier pulling & re-installing the the cluster all at once after I made sure everything is labeled.

I mentioned the BBC sponsor sources in my first post...
    Gauges - European Marine
    Bezels - Pitstop Marine

Both are very good to deal with.

    Thumbs Up

Forgot to mention... I polished the dash panel with TR-3 Resin glaze. 3 or 4 applications. This stuff works great to bring back the shine on painted surfaces and/or opaque plastics that are oxidized. The shine gets better after the resin "sets" for a couple hours.

Last note... Got the bezel for the flasher installed to complete the job this past weekend. (it was a 3-3/8", not a 4" that I originally ordered) If I haven't mentioned it enough... Thanks to the BBC sponsors European Marine for the new Mercury gauges & PitStopMarine.com for the bezels. Excellent folks!
