Can hear 'pump' or something running on SHO all the time...

Im not sure what it is... maybe fuel pump ???

I can hear this thing running constantly. I was in my driveway the other day and could hear a faint humming noise and discovered it was coming from the motor... until I turn off all the power to the boat it would run continuously..

    Any ideas ?

You mean disconnect the battery, or something else?

I have a 250 SHO and hear nothing. Maybe there is something wrong with your key switch!

Hmmm .. yes when I am saying turning off the power, I have a switch at the back of my boat that cuts off all power...

I will keep an eye on it and maybe just have to take it in to the dealer...

I can definately hear the buzzing/humming noise like something is running though ... I just started noticing it so not sure how long it has been doing it for...

Was just curious if anyone has heard simliar and or if someone knew what it was...

Yes my SHO also make that noise but only when the key is on. I will see if I can figure out where the noise comes from.

this noise is the electronic throttle body and is normal but only with the key on if yours is doing it with key off, it's probably your auto bilge float hung up!! unless you got serious key switch/harness issues which i doubt?

Rippinglips, did you ever figure out what was causing your SHO to make that humming sound? I have the same issues with my 250 SHO. The humming is coming from the motor which the key off, and removed from the ignition. It will do it for 15 minutes, stop for a few hours then start again. Sometimes I’ll wake up in the morning and find it humming. I’ve had to disconnect the battery till I figure out what’s causing it. It’s drained my Optima cranking battery twice now!

I’ve been told it’s the ETV and I may have a bad ignition switch. A replacement switch is $120, little costly to hope that’s the issue. This started 6 days after my extended warranty expired....go figure

Mine has done this since new. Key is off. i turned all the power off on the lake trying to figure it out. Must be something with the fuel pump. Read on here others have the same noise. Seems to be more so on a hot day and when you have a rare day that is quiet on the water. Stopped worrying about it
