Mounting Lowrance LSS transducer on Cobra 201D

I have an 02 201D Cobra and was wondering if anyone else has mounted a Lowrance HDS Structure/Side Scan transducer (long, oval shaped) on a Cobra and where they mounted it.

I mounted mine directly under the jack plate, screwed into the hull (gasp). Will post pics tonight.

I am going through the same. Trying to mount a lowrance 3-1. I have a t&h manual jack plate and am thinking of that but I am also seeing people mount it underneath the step off where the live well intakes are.

    KSbass,
Do you get a read from it at speed? I lose mine once I hit close to 60 mph. Not many areas to mount, and never mount in the tunnel. Anything on the transom, be sure to fill the hole with Life Caulk before putting in the screws.

Why wouldn’t you mount in the tunnel?

It messes with your water stream going back to your motor intake and would aerate stream going to your prop losing bite like PVS system on Merc props.
You want to keep water flow to prop as clean as possible for optimal bite and least amount of slip.
