25?!@#? I have never had to replace my MKs. How many boats have you owned?

I've had a motorguide and 2 Minn Kota's. Minn Kota hands down. Love my Fortrex. Motorguides are too clanky with those steel shafts or at least mine was, not to mention the thing fried on me. And the Minn Kota's are packed with features that Motorguides don't have. Lift assist, smooth start up to keep from tossing you over the side, and the electric ones are loaded with features but I didn't like the noise they make for shallow water fishing. I miss that remote control though.

I have had 3 motor guides , 1 1990 brute series that still works great and is now on my FIL's pontoon. I bought a brand new MG tour series 70# to replace it because it was like 41# thrust lol and it was in repair shop more than it was on the water . So last fall I got a newer Ranger 1998 and it had a MG Brute series 67# and it works flawlessly as long as I maintain it . I hated the new MG so much I let it go with the older Ranger . Now when i do buy one it will be wireless and it will be a MK ! It is my opinion and experience that MG has lost some quality since the late 90's and will now Give MK my future business . I might eat my words lol but I figure ill give them a chance :)

Had both. MK hands down quieter and the soft start is great. No more MG for me.

MG without doubt, metal foot petal ,head , shaft ,stronger bracket. It is simply a better product IMHO.

I fish in brackish water. The MK riptide series are the best motors I have ever run in 30 years of fishing. Literally cannot break them. Motorguides down here are far and few between.

I've had both. MK on my Ranger and MG on my Champion. I like both and really can't complain about customer service for either. Choose what is best for you and the type of fishing you do.

Always had MK until present boat. MG 82 Tour digital w/gator mount. Solid motor and low on bow when down. Not sure about the noise and weed comments. Mine is as quiet as any MK I've owned, and I have no problems in heavy weeds.

Well the OP's poll showed MK as a clear winner by a landslide. Good luck with whatever you choose.
