Does your buddy have 1.62 gears with a sportmaster? Just wondering if I can turn a 29 pitch.

    Thanks

I think you should be able to turn a 29

I have been in the same rig that racerkvn is referring to and saw low 90's as well.

I really believe 100 is doable with a light load with something such as a big performer

With 1:62 Sporty you would probably like the 28 hydro a bit better for general fishing but the 29 will keep you off the limiter when running light... keep us posted..

The hard part of running a big prop with the 1.62's is the the holeshot.. The 250xs has a little mor bottom end then my 300X but with most big pitches I need lots of vent holes open..

How many RPM's were you able to turn up with the 30 B/C performer? Also what was your prop shaft to pad height?
    Thanks

    Re: Speed Prop (mbrien)

I think it was 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 above. just glanced at the tach 62-6400. This was in 100 deg temp 3/4 fuel fishing stuff for one, driver and balast. nothing in live wells. 96 should be easy 98 might be doable in cooler air if im not on the limiter.

edit: this was a borrowed prop, I dont know if it was modified other than the bullet cut.
