    Curious about Bullet Boats?

I am in the market for a boat and was curious about bullet boats. I have heard alot of good things about them performance wise but not to much about their ability in rough water. Also the material the boat is made of has anyone ever had one splinter. I have been fishing for years but never had the oppurtunity to ride or drive one. They really look pissed off when they're in the water.

If you want a rough water boat... Don't even look at a 20 ft Bullet... Get the 21 that is 2 in shy of 22 ft.... I fish the great lakes alot with mine... All boats take common sense in the rough... Bullet offers a "XT" lay up boat... More kevlar in the high stress areas.... I ordered mine that way... Check to see if any used boat has it by the serial number called in to Bullet boat factory.

Haven't personally heard of any hull problems do to manufacture defects.. The 21 is the boat for rough water and with a 300X on the back still fishing at 90-95 mph.. Louis

The 21 is the smooth ride KING...but I will say that the 20 is as good as most all other 20's out there!!!! Remember...in the rough stuff...a big heavy boat is only going to hit the water harder!!!! Most people don't agree and think that a light boat HAS to ride rough...but there is A LOT to be said for how LIGHT a bullet hits the water!!!!! Steve

Like Mike said you can make a 21' boat rough if you don't use common sense, I can tell you from experience both boats do good on rough water, but I would give the edge to the 21' when it really gets bad out.

My father bought the 21xd that I have now in 1998. Everyone told him that a bullet would never hold up on Kentucky Lake. To this day you can not find a stress crack in it anywhere. They are very strong boats.

I have a 20XDC and I love it, like previously said the light boat sets down really soft on the water, I've always rand champion and this is a diff creature but all in all I I like my bullet much more than the champs, triton or ranger...I do like speed also and mine with the 300x has plenty of that which none of the others would even be in the same ball park as...*♂️

Goose, I'm only 4 hours away from you, you're more than welcome to come ride in my 2016 RDC with a 300XS anytime, Bullet makes the best boat I've ever been in, and I've owned several different brands.also, I grew up in Tulsa, fished a lot of the lakes around there, a 20ft would be ok, but if I were you, I'd get a 21, they just handle rough water that much better, and you can get some WIND in Oklahoma!

I've fished from several brand of boats. Bullets are a high performance fishing machine. Light and super strong. Like a Cadillac on the water. The 21x's are the way to go, not knocking a 20' by no means. The 21's hande the rough stuff and they are fast. You wouldn't be disappointed.

I bought a 1995 21xd in the fall of 1994 w/ a 1995 200 xri on it and she is still hanging there. I just recently had the moto overhauled / modified by JSRE and am currently trying to dial everything in, lower unit w/low water pick up & CLE, props and etc. But any way to answer your question about the Bullet. I have fished in a lot of boats, Rangers, Bass Cats, Skeeters, and etc. and the 21xd in my opinion is by far the most comfortable, rough water handling, and naturally pretty fast L.O.L. I have fished Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn in some pretty rough water and that 21xd just reaches out there from one wave to another, pretty amazing. But you should ride and drive one for your self to make a decision for your self.

It's amazing how someone can dig up a 12 year old post from someone asking about bullets and people continue to respond like he posted the question yesterday!
