Lowrance HDS guys with Structure Scan

Got a visit from my Lowrance Rep today and there is a new update. Its is a update for the HDS models. This update will allow the Side imaging screens to now have a blue backgroud feature (which looks awsome and easy to reaed) and Can now have Side imaging, down Imagining AND dual frequency all on one page. I told him i need him to get me an update card so that anyone in my area can come by to upload the new software to there unit. I will have one in Houma soon. Also learned alot from him today. I spoke with him for hours in the store and went over the New SIMRAD model which is going to be in very close competition with the HDS 7.

Just wanted to pass this info along. I know cooney has the side imaging so when i get the update card cooney, i can hook you up

Also for people that havent updated there HDS models in the last 1 to 2 years or even when they first came out, this update isnt just for Side imaging. There have been a few updates for softwares since the HDS models came out a few years ago. So if you bought an HDS before this month, then its time for an update

Good deal. I do keep up with the updates as.they come out. I like that blue screen for ss. Also like the quick key menu disappearing on the 8 and 10 when not in use and also the 3 way split on the 7.

Yeah the 3 split page is awsome, especially for new comers to the side imaging and down imaging.

I like them both. They are both good systems with their own pluses. That is something HB has had out for several years though.

yeah but the thing i find about humminbird is they havent done anything since. Like the mapping just cant compare to the insights and navionics that lowrance has. Humminbird takes navionics cards but cant read them like lowrance, there fore you dont get the full detail.

Agree about the mapping. And Chase if lowrance is like HB, any owner will get an account when they registar the product and recieve the updates themself. Not sure since the last lowrance I owned wasnt capable of updates, but I would think they did that too and thats the easiest way to stay updated. Also HB puts out how to videos and all updates on their Facebook page if you know someone with a HB.

Only problem with Lowrance is that Miss Linda left the company, so now customer service SUCKS the egg big time. Good luck with you warranty.

thats why you deal with West Marine, you never have to deal with Lowrance

I've only dealt with CS a few times in the last several years and all went well for me and that was a few times when Linda was there. I've only used her once. Knock on wood im going on a couple years with my HDS setup without any problems.

Yes, it is in one of the settings while you are on the structure screen

If your talking about the blue screen for downscan and side scan it's color #9.

Shouldn't you be able to goto the lowrance website and download it to a card. Unzip the file and load it to your graph? Thats the way it works with all the other updates.

Yea you can. Just go to the download page on Lowrance web site and look for the unit you want to update. HDS gen 1 or 2
