No serial number

Called the guy to get the serial number from the motor so I could insure it before I brought it home. He said there is no serial number on the motor. He gave me a number that was on the paperwork from when he bought it. Might not go pick up a motor tomorrow after all.

Maybe he just doesn't know where it is located on the motor.

In Texas, the motor is Titled!!!!

MERC's & Mariners had S/N Plates on the motor bracket as far back as 84 to my knowledge and probably further. Sounds HOT to me. I wouldn't touch it.
