    Knots

After reading the article in Bass Times, The 'why' and 'why nots' of line knots what are your why and why not knots. And do you tie different knots for different applications?

Use a palomar all the time. Fastest for me to tie.

Palomar for me all the time tie it carefully and wet it good before tighting it up then checking it after tying and I have had no knot problems with braid, fluro, mono or co-poylmer. Larry Brumley

Palomar is my go to not...except on very light line 8lb of smaller then I will use the the Trilene cinch not.....I use a loop knot on suspending jerkbaits....i believe it frees their action up some making it a little more natural.....I have been using the double palomar on braided line but it can be difficult to dress down at times....I seen Alton Jones taking about the hangmans knot and I plan on trying it some on braided line this year.....

    +1.

Palomar with mono; trilene with floro. Palomar seems to slip or break more often with floro. I use 6 wraps w trilene knot and leave larger than normal tag to prevent slip. Bob J

    Re: Knots (H2O_Fowl)

I've been doing Palomar knots about 90% of the time, I've mixed in the trilene and used the Rapala knots on jerk baits.

The biggest problem with the palomar I am having is my eye sight of pushing the line through the second time, and my fingers act like they are all thumbs. I do use reading glass when reading and carry one in the boat, but it's not always convenient.

I have had a spool of line and a jig out playing around with the knots they have displayed, I think I may incorporate the San Diego Jam, it quick and easy.
