You'd think reel manufacturers made line, too

Is there any reason in the word for a baitcaster to hold 150, 250, even 350 yards of line? You'd think they made line, too. I mean, come on guys, make a bigger diameter spool that holds about 80 yards and be done with it. It doesn't make any sense.

How many people strip off 80 yards or so and retie and refill the balance with new line? I was going to last night, and then just stripped it all off.

I have a ton of "backing" on my reels and when I re-spool I don't end up using much new line.

Same, but I have caught Kentucky's suspended in 100 foot of water at Table Rock. When I employ this tactic I have to have the whole spool filled with new line.

When I think I'm going to employ that tactic... I just hit the snooze and go back to sleep
