Got a new cell phone, here's why..........

My Dad's 65th birthday was Sunday. We cooked out at my house and we are all sitting down eating when there is non-stop knocking at the door. The wife answers it and it is our neighbor screaming and crying, saying "Jamie is in the pool!". All I can think of is Jamie is a little girl and I get up and run as fast as I can around the house and on my way down I see something wrapped up in a temporary plastic cover, struggling in the middle of the pool. Obviously I dive right in because every second counts.

I get to it and Jamie is their dog It was about to give up, and as I lifted her onto the deck I realized that my wallet and cell phone went swimming with me.

For those of you who have been around long enough, you have heard me talk about these neighbors and their problem with my dog.

Anyway, I don't regret jumping in, if it had been a person and I had emptied my pockets before getting in, those moments could have cost a life.

I came within seconds of going into our pool with my phone a couple of weeks ago when our pup went in, but he came to the top and swam across. We don't have the solar cover on because of the dogs. Fence is one of my projects this summer.

I just had to get a new cell phone last mo. for almost the same reason, but instead of a pool it was a pond, and not a dog, but a calf mired down in the mud.
Didn't have my wallet, but forgot my cell was on my waist.
Like stated above good thing you are a better neighbor

Went into the pond after a 6hr old calf last year in freaking February when it was 19 degrees. Sent my wife for a rope (for me) and she wasn't back yet when the calf went under. Like a big DA, in I went. Cold, cold water. Amazing how well that little thing swam until it got too cold.

Good job. They shouldn't have a problem with your dog now. Did you dry your phone out then try it. I've had two phones that still worked after being in KY lake. I also had one that is still there.

Yeah, I gave it a day and a half, because I have had them work after being submerged too, but no such luck. I did get a deal though since they wanted me to extend my contract. Work ays for the contract so I am good there.

Good deed you did there Mike. Me being a dog freak myself I can imagine how scary that would have been for them. I hate to sound overly sarcastic about it, why didn't they go in instead of taking the time to go next door to get you? seems logical to me at least.

Lost mine to water a few years back in a water filled ditch, helping at a wreck...Never even gave it a second thought before going in waist deep...Mike, your a good man...
