OH/IN/KY BBC Bass Club Tourney and Rally Info

This post is to inform potential new members wishing to join our OH/IN/KY BBC Bass Club about how we are set up and how we operate the Club.
First there are some requirements that must be met. The requirements are:

    1. You must be a member in good standing of BassBoatCentral.com. You must have been a member for at least 30 days and have made at least 10 posts in any of the BBC forums. You may fish with a non-member.

    2. You must have at least $100,000.00 of liability insurance coverage on your boat and keep a current copy of the front page of the policy in your boat showing your name, coverage and expiration date. From time to time the director will assign someone to check insurance papers and anyone not having up to date coverage will not be allowed to fish a tourney until the coverage is in force.

    3. At each tourney you must sign two forms. One form is acknowledging your insurance information and a waiver. The second form is to acknowledge the club rules.

    What we are about:

Our club exists to provide our members the experience of getting together to have fun and make new friends who enjoy the same passion of bass boating and fishing. Our goal is to fish different lakes in Indiana and Kentucky so we can experience new lakes and how to fish them. The tourney part of our club is NOT the most important part of our club experience but is to provide friendly fishing competition with a small reward and bragging rights. NOTE: If you are looking for a competitive club with big payouts and money is your main concern then this club is not for you.

    What we do:

BassBoatCentral.com has rallies in different states during each year. Any OH/IN/KY BBC Club member can attend and fish these rallies. BBC members attend these rallies from all over the U.S. and Canada and these events last for several days. BBC sponsors provide nice door prizes for these events.

    Summary:

The OH/IN/KY BBC Bass Club exists for getting together, meeting new friends and doing a little fishing. We are also about helping each other with boating issues and fishing techniques. We also participate and help other members on the BassBoatCentral.com web site.

Re: IN/KY BBC Bass Club Tourney and Rally Info (mikedaleo)

The following is a copy of Al's post on the decision about Proof of Liability Insurance at the rallies, FYI:

    Al from Canada
    BBC Prez

    7040 posts [100%]
    Toronto ON

"Guys.....I've given this a lot of thought and have decided that we WILL require that everyone have a minimum of $100,000. liability insurance for our rallies and tournaments.
I'm thinking that it will be a separate form as each "attendee" obviously wouldn't have to provide proof, only the boat owner.

It just doesn't make sense to not require it and have the majority with insurance and a handful that don't. What happens if someone without liability insurance causes an accident at a BBC event?

According to the poll that JerryT put up, something like 90% have liability insurance anyways.

I'm thinking we need to have them sign a form showing their insurance company, policy number & expiry date.

What I'm really protecting is everything that Shirley and I have, the BBC doesn't have all that much but we need to protect our "stuff"....."

A copy of the front page of the policy showing the name of the insurance company, liability coverage and expiration date must be kept in each boat and shown when requested.
