Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (russ010)

russ010, I have the old 522. I show arcs when trolling with outboard, but if there is no current and I am using trolling motor, I see those long lines. I am assuming they are fish, but do not know. Also, this may be a dumb question, but how does one tell the different kind of bottom on the lowrance units. This 522 is my first unit and I know it isn't near as advanced as what you have shown. Thanks

Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)

    Hallo,

A few days ago I made some screenshots on a Dutch river. 4.0 is to sensitive so I made these shots with 3.5. But I used the suggestions Jason did in the other topic about problems with 4.0 and 2D Sonarview/settings. So Jason, thanks again. Next trip I will make some shots with 4.0 and I will upload the settings of those shots as well.

In the matrix you wil find the settings off the shots.

    Kind regards,

    Juan Gonzalez

I found this same issue today and tested this: had the big motor in water when it had the streamline on graph but when I tilted all the way out the line went away. I played with sensitivity and put motor back in water and the line was gone.

Got stuck with some high wind this afternoon. Found a small cut by the dam, out of the wind on the lake I fish. After finding this, I was able to finish out my Crappie dinner on it.

Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (Spurs)

I've been out again to the same lake and they are indeed fish (caught a lot on a drop shot the next day out). I was sitting still and the ping speed was set to 17, moved the ping down to 10 and set custom depths and it cleared up a lot.

I've now got the following setting on my HDS 7 and 5...

    - Sensitivity - Auto + 2% (I'll change this depending on the depth I'm fishing)
    - Ping Speed - sitting still to slow troll - 10-15; steady troll - 17-max depending on depth
    - 200 khz all the time, I hardly ever use the 83khz just because it works for me
    - Type of Water - I rotate between General Use, Fresh Water and Clear water -- I like to rotate while moving just to see which give better returns
    - Surface Clarity - Low
    - Noise Rejection - Low
    - Pallet - usually 13, but I like the one that shows just different shades of brown (I think pallet 9, it works great when the water is like chocolate milk in shallow water)

Other than that, If I know I'm going to concentrate on 15-25' of water, I'll set custom depths - mostly for drop shotting... but 9 times out of 10 I leave it on Auto unless it's trying to show me 20 feet of bottom and 10' of water

I have some waypoints written down on a piece of paper. How do I get those waypoints to an SD Card so that I can import them to the unit?

From what I gather, screen shots are saved to the internal memory right? How big is the internal storage?
