I find Navionics to be far superior to Lakemaster in terms of coverage, accuracy and detail but that's just in my area out west (live in Las Vegas). Follow the contour is a great feature on LM, as is the lake level adjustment and depth highlight, if the lake is supported, and if it is accurate. But it's not much of a stretch to just lay down a route or waypoints on either card's chart and follow that with iPilot link if you have that feature available. The best feature of LM is adjusting the lake level, but again, that is moot unless the chart is accurate. I have both cards and use Navionics where LM doesn't have accurate coverage (which is often). I would say to anyone, unless your LM lake is listed as HD, think twice if you can only choose one card.

I agree. Make sure it is a Lakemaster surveyed lake. There are HD lakes that are not great. If you have your lakes in LM surveyed you can't do any better. Bob

lanier is a hd lake and it's very very accurate. Garmin was slightly better simply because it was surveyed by garmin and was much newer. navionics is not even close

Actually Lanier is not as accurate as it can be since it is not Lakemaster High Definition Survey, it is just High Definition Survey.

The Lakemaster High Definition Survey waters are surveyed by Lakemaster with their personnel and equipment.

This is on the lake list:

High Definition is ascribed to a chart by LakeMaster when the underlying data is of such high quality and density that the resulting map is very accurate. Only the most accurate and detailed surveyed data combined with the talents of our experienced GIS analysts earn the “High Definition” label. Our High Definition lake charts have the highest level of accuracy, especially in the shallow “fishing structure” areas. In some cases, the bathymetric data to build the map has been gathered by LakeMaster’s own survey team. We then identify that as “LakeMaster High Definition” chart with an asterisk.*

Whenever I zoom all the way in on the map the contour lines get pixelated? The lines are jagged and broken. Is this normal?

Looks like Woods/Rainy or Woods/Rainy Plus is the best choice.

That is the 2017 issue. The 2018 issue V-3 should be out in about a month.

I saw several sources with V-2 listed doing a web search. Ebay, Cabelas, Ebay----------

No, there are no "upgrades". There are annual editions. If you want new stuff, you need a new card annually.

    Question -

I have read that Lakemaster doesn’t have Missouri River dikes on it, or at least not nearly a good as Navionics...

    True, BS, or Other ?

This may be a dumb question and may have been already covered, but if I have a Lakemaster chip in my console Helix 9 can I share waypoints with my bow mounted 958 if it has a Navionics chip??
