Ok. I guess I’ll renew my navionics+ card. Probably give me the best coverage? Thanks.

    Hey Doug,
Good morning, I am in the quoting process right now on some much needed upgrades for my boat, going with Birds Helix 10 as it stands right now, what Lake master Chip do you recommend for the best overall coverage? Virginia, NC& SC. for the majority of my fishing?

    LAKEMASTER PLUS
Mid-Atlantic - v2 seems to cover a lot of my lakes I enjoy fishing and shockingly had several smaller lakes in the NC Triad area where I live now. I did not expect to see them listed.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Steve

Im confused once you buy a lake master chip...is there a way to update the data on local lakes to current water depth levels? If so, where is that data coming from? Do users or hummingbird team people upload fresh data alot? Thanks

You cannot update the maps. The only change that may occur is a re-survey by the Lakemaster survey teams. It may not occur in your lifetime. To get any additional changes takes the purchase of a new map card.

You can adjust the lake level from the time the body of water was surveyed using the Humminbird Chart menu and Water Level Offset. That adjustment range is -200' to +30'.
    Only HD maps are adjustable.

The only other method of getting current data is what is shared by unit owners doing Auto Chart LiveShare.

Good Morning Wayne, With a Lake Master card inserted, and unit powered on, I see Auto, Unimap, and Basemap as my selections. Since LM is not listed, I'm assuming the unit is not reading the card. I'm using a 32GB SD card. Software updated fine so I'm thinking its not the unit. Am I correct the LM map is missing from the selection options?

    Auto reads the Lakemaster card.

Maybe a dumb question - How do you know what the lake level was when surveyed?

You don't have know if the lake level is not published.
Just be on the water above a contour line and look at the depth readout. If it is different than the map, adjust the map so the contour line depth matches the sonar depth.

You could call but it really does not matter. You simply put your boat over a contour and adjust the unit till the line and the depth are equal. You would do this every time you go to the lake. Bob

Does anyone know if the bay of greenbay is covered on the Lakemaster Smartstrike chip? The list has GreenBay in bold, but the letters N/A behind it.

I would call. Lakemaster has HD coverage is some areas but not all. My guess is that it is not available. Smartstrike is only for HD lakes. But verify with someone that has it. Bob

Guess I didn't state it clear enough. Not concerned with the smartstrike fish finding capabilities, just want to see contour lines and have I-link work for trolling. I will call them if I don't get a response from anyone on here.
    Thanks

The reason it is not part of smartstrike is that it is not Lakemaster surveyed HD. Smartstrike won't work with lesser surveys so it is not included. So it makes no difference what the intended use is. Lakemaster maps will have the lake included even if the whole body of water is not HD. HB will be able to give you first hand information. Bob

SmartStrike has the same coverage as Lakemaster and Lakemaster Plus, just has the extra fish location prediction software. SmartStrike won't work on the standard definition waters that are listed.

There you go chess. Still don’t know what “n/a” is though. If you put the chip in and cursor to the area in Green Bay you can look and see

Thanks guys, boat is still in snow. Will try looking at it once it warms up and I can open the cover up.

May be old news to some but I just noticed there are lakelists from previous versions of lakemaster mapping on the HB site under Support then at the bottom of the list is Chart Lists! Bob

Thanks, I have never checked for that since Lakemaster has no coverage where I fish.
