I don't know about the NE chip but my experience says standard definition sucks. Check out navionics web app for your lakes. As far as features exclusivly on LM(follow the contour) If the contours are not accurate whats the point. The rest of the features work on Navionics too. I got an HD map from LM on my main lake and it is fantastic! I had a standard definition LM map before that.(worthless for follow the contour) Bob

thanks, Bob, for your input. I like the Navionics app, but have a hard time seeing it in the sunlight. The features I like the most are the fishing highlight and depth shading but can't make it work for me with my 999's. They do have depth shading but that's it. If I could see my tablet in the sun that would be ideal since the Webapp has those features I mentioned. That's why I was considering Lakemaster. I was pretty sure the standard def was useless but wanted to confirm. Thanks again.

The web app is on the navionics site where you can look at the lake maps that navionics has. These are updated continually on the sonar data. They will be the exact maps you can download. Bob

His issue is Humminbird units don't have the settings that the Navionics Mobile App has with his tablet like Water Level Offset, and Fishing Range Highlighting similar to Lakemaster mapping.

I have the mobile app on six devices.

Humminbirds just do Depth Shading with Navionics mapping.

When visiting the WebApp, be sure you're selecting the SonarChart layer for premium detail. ALL current Navionics cards come with this feature and free uploads for a year.

Ordered a LakeMaster Plus Midsouth yesterday and can't wait to try it out. I bought a Navionics+ when I installed my units just because it covers a lake my family has a week long annual crappie trip on and Lakemaster dosent. I'm here on Bull Shoals and Table Rock which are Lakemaster HD. My plan is to run the LM in my console Onix and put the Navionics in the bow Helix until I get a second LM. What would Contour Elite do for me? Can I make my on maps with Auto Chart onto the LM card?

Contour Elite is computer software that you can create waypoints and copy them to your unit. You can import your waypoints to Contour Elite also. Read the description on the Humminbird website.
It is a duplicate of a Lakemaster map card.

Auto Chart goes ONLY on a Zero Line card.

I think I know the answer but if I plugged my LakeMaster SD card into a computer would I be able to play with the maps? Or is that what Contour Elite is for. I have the Navionics app on my phone and a Navionics chip just wondering if I could do anything with my Lakemaster chip outside of a HB unit.

FishSmart is a copy of Chart Select for your mobile device. Has nothing to do with a map card.

So FishSmart just gives detail for ChartSelect maps that i would have to purchase and cannot be used in conjunction with LakeMaster Plus in any form except Contour Elite.

I've got waypoints marked on my Onix with my Navionics chip in, when I remove that chip and use my new Lakemaster the waypoints will still be there correct?

Yes .... The waypoints are in the unit's memory .... not on the map chip.

Can you have multiple "chart select" maps on one SD card?

Thanks, that's what I thought just wanting to make sure as I'm going out Saturday for the first time with the Lakemaster.

I was playing with the Lakemaster + card and noticed when I zoom in on a steep bank the contour lines become dashes and are just kind of jumbled together, is this normal? Also can I register the card on MyHumminbird?

Looks like some of the 2017 issues are posted on the Humminbird Lakemaster site.

I see one lake that was surveyed during late Summer for the Mid-Atlantic region is included.
