I don't know about the NE chip but my experience says standard definition sucks. Check out navionics web app for your lakes. As far as features exclusivly on LM(follow the contour) If the contours are not accurate whats the point. The rest of the features work on Navionics too. I got an HD map from LM on my main lake and it is fantastic! I had a standard definition LM map before that.(worthless for follow the contour) Bob

thanks, Bob, for your input. I like the Navionics app, but have a hard time seeing it in the sunlight. The features I like the most are the fishing highlight and depth shading but can't make it work for me with my 999's. They do have depth shading but that's it. If I could see my tablet in the sun that would be ideal since the Webapp has those features I mentioned. That's why I was considering Lakemaster. I was pretty sure the standard def was useless but wanted to confirm. Thanks again.

The web app is on the navionics site where you can look at the lake maps that navionics has. These are updated continually on the sonar data. They will be the exact maps you can download. Bob

His issue is Humminbird units don't have the settings that the Navionics Mobile App has with his tablet like Water Level Offset, and Fishing Range Highlighting similar to Lakemaster mapping.

I have the mobile app on six devices.

Humminbirds just do Depth Shading with Navionics mapping.

When visiting the WebApp, be sure you're selecting the SonarChart layer for premium detail. ALL current Navionics cards come with this feature and free uploads for a year.
