    You missed the + part

The plus units have double the power .... and support the M360 which connects to the transducer port ... it is not just an Ethernet device like the original 360

Please correct me if I am wrong, A Solix MSI GPS G2 will be able to use the mega capability with a mega 360? I keep reading about the unit having to be "+" or G3. I didn't think the Solix units were G3 yet. Thought they were only G2 but "+". I am looking to buy a mega 360 and I want to purchase and connect it to the correct Solix 12. I'm sorry if this has been answered before, Just trying to get clarification. Thank you.

You are correct .... the Solix + units are G2 while the Helix are G3 ..... But the key factor is that it needs to be an SI+ or DI+ unit whether it is Helix or Solix.

I just bought an older 360 imagining unit on 455khz.

Can anybody tell me anything about the Q of the transducer used in that model?

I want to feed 455 khz CHIRP into it as its a choice on my Helix 10 CHIRP SI G2N.

    regards

The original 360 is an Ethernet accessory and the drivers that ping the transducer are built into the 360 .... it is NOT pinged by the head unit.

    Thanks Bob.

Well, I guess that fixes that. Doesn't matter about the Q now.

Wayne P, “That Y cable connects the MEGA 360 to the unit's Side Imaging circuits so it replaces SI on a SI unit and adds SI to a DI unit.”

This is freaking awesome! Thanks Wayne!

Wondering if hummingbird sells the fortrex 360 mounts by itself. I aquired a 360 but need the fortrex mount. I see where they sell the ultrex mount. Any help would be most appreciated.

You would have to contact Humminbird Customer Service for that possibility, it is not a stock item.

Like I did when I changed from a Motor Guide to Ultrex, I purchased the Ultrex conversion kit and had the Fortrex mount left over. Someone that did the same would have one. I traded mine with someone that had a Ultrex mount since I mess with stuff and had an idea I wanted to try with a double mount.

Maybe someone reading this has one, and you can post on the Swap & Sell board in theMiscellaneous listing

    I have a question about the Mega 360 transducer cable and the use of a Y cable (Humminbird 9-M360-2-Ddi-Y - Mega 360 & 2d/Mdi 7-Pin Y-Cable).

    My setup is as follows:

    Mega 360
    Helix 9 MDI+ g3n
Untrex with an external MDI transducer.

    I have attached the Y cable (Humminbird 9-M360-2-Ddi-Y - Mega 360 & 2d/Mdi 7-Pin Y-Cable) to the transducer cable from the Mega 360.

Should I connect the transducer cable from the y cable to the Helix, and connect the current transducer cable in the Helix to the Y cable or does it matter?

Unless you have another unit to connect the MEGA DI+ transducer to , you have no other choice but to connect the MEGA DI+ transducer to the female 7-pin plug on the MEGA 360 Y cable. The unit only has a single transducer port.

    Wayne

    Hopefully a simple question.

I would like to add Mega 360 to my setup. I have Ultrex 52” shaft, current using Lowrance 12” Carbon with 3n1 transducer on troller. I will only be using the setup for brush pile fishing and only on the troller stand-alone setup.

Would the correct and complete purchase be a Helix 12 Chirp Mega DI display only and a Mega 360 Ultrex bracket, or would there be additional components needed.

This would be a standalone new purchase.

I will be using the Lowrance for waypoint management, side and down imaging, and 2D.

I tried multiple search keywords, however with no success.

    Thank you very much!

The unit would have to be Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA DI+ GPS G3N (CHO). CHO stands for Control Head Only.

The MEGA 360 comes with two 10' cables. One connects the MEGA 360 to a Helix and the other connects the MEGA 360 to a SOLIX.
You need nothing else to run just the MEGA 360.

If you would like to mark and view waypoints on the 360 view, you need a Heading Sensor added.
That can be the Point1 networked to the Helix or a AS GPS HS connected directly to the Helix.
With that setup, you could copy your offshore Lowrance waypoints to the Helix and help you position on the waypoints better.

This brushpile waypoint was first displayed in the black area of the display before I got within the 360 range setting.

Question of the day! I am installing a Mega 360 on an Ultrex with Mega DI.

Do I need a separate power switch for the Mega 360? I have an extra power lead in the bow of my bay boat that is wired to the main power switch.

    Thanks BBC!
