    Thanks BBC!
If you turn off the main power all the time, that will be OK.
You need a disconnect switch somewhere and a 1A fuse.

Yes sir, turn it off when I leave the water. I'll add the fuse inline to the existing power.

    Hi,

Has anyone heard anything about the ability to switching between SI 360 and SI of a fishfinder transducer? Or about 360mega with Ethernet interface in the future?

    Thanx in advance!

The 360 and MEGA 360 are rotating Side Imaging transducers. They will do 360 or Side Imaging.

I know it but it is not comfortable for me. When I try to find zаnders I want to get SI data when I move with high speed. And I can't share 360imaging from Solix to Helix.
The 360mega with Ethernet would be more versatile.

    1) Does sharing one cable with my MDI+ transducer up front vs a dedicated unit for the 360 have any impact on image quality for the 360?
    2) Has anyone experienced fishing shallow water (1-4') where the the image only comes back with 20-30' outside of the boat and the rest of the 360 circle beyond is blown out with light color vs dark? I had to turn the sensitivity to -8 and up the contrast to 20 to see decently

    My setup
Bow: 12" G3N MDI+ and Mega 360 - supposedly connected via Y cable but I realized last trip it appears my DI/2D was pulling connecting to the console unit's transducer, will need to check in on this next trip out under my network settings.

    1. No

    2. The bottom composition and how flat it is would determine how it is recorded. This is with the trolling motor touching the bottom with the transducer in the mud. The depth was the distance between the motor and 360.

I knew I should have take a photo but about two and a half of my outer rings were blown out. Is this the right selected transducer for my setup?

Yes, if you want 2D and DI from the bow on the bow unit using the MEGA 360 Y cable.

question...looking at purchasing a 999 and a 360 for the bow...can I run the 999 as stand alone for the 360? (I would only have a power source for the 999 and then the 360 plugged into it....or do I also need to connect that 999 to a transducer of some sort?

Yes you can run the 360 by itself. It is an Ethernet accessory. Just turn Sonar OFF.
The 360 does ONLY 360 and Side Imaging=no 2D/Depth, Down Imaging, or Temp.

The 360 comes with a 6' power cable, 20' Ethernet cable, and AS GPS HS antenna. You cannot connect the 360 to a display without an Ethernet cable attached to the Ethernet cord.
You need an Ethernet Adapter (AS EC QDE) to connect the Ethernet cable to the display.

thank you for clarifying Wayne! I will be running a secont 999 next to it for sonar/mapping that will be connected to a Gen 1 Solix 12 @ console to share waypoints. Maybe upgrade to ethernet hub and newer graphs up front sometime down the road

You can view 360 on all those units at the same time.

PS, thanks for chiming in on my questions. My setup ran fine in a deeper lake this past weekend, I'll have to get it on the water again in the shallow lake I had issues on to see if it was just an isolated incident.

really? I thought X99 series and solix series only shared waypoints? If so the Ethernet hub is going to added.

    Appreciate that info!

Wayne, this caught my eye. I think this is the "regular" 360 (connected via ethernet) and not the Mega 360 (connected as a transducer). Since the recent Solix software updates have done away with Solix and Onix networking, I'm assuming there is no way to have a satellite Onix head also receiving the Mega360 signal. Just wanted to confirm this as I have an Onix 10 cSI that I could install in the boat.

My response was for post #1435 about two X99 models and a SOLIX with the 360 which are Ethernet connections.

Nothing has changed between an ONIX and SOLIX that would share MEGA 360 with any connection.

well same issue in 1-3’ of water, can’t see out more than 40’. Same lake but deep works great. Could is be mounting depth/height of the 360? Or frequency?j
