Just a thought but I updated my units last week and it defaults the user to the Angler mode, you may need to switch it to Custom.

    Main Menu/Setup/Select User Mode.

Hope that is it for you!!

FIXED - Checked wiring and in the process popped a fuse. Replaced and all is now working. Go figure

Is there a way to utilize the Mega 360 on a 60 or 72 inch shaft Ultrex. Some sources listed the M360 transducer as working with the 45 and 52 inch shafts so I contacted humminbird and their short response was that it does not work with the 60 inch shaft. wouldn't the head of the trolling motor only be farther away from the transducer? If anyone has found a solution to this problem, please let me know.

It will "work" if you keep the pod wet. Just depends on why you need a motor shaft that long.

Thanks Wayne. I will take some measurements and then see what my distance to the water is from the bottom of the ultres frame. My aluminum walleye boat tends to be a bit light in the front end and in significant wind the 60 inch shaft comes out of the water, so I replaced it with a 72. If I can maintain the 6 inch minimum submersion it should work, otherwise i'd have to figure a way to extend the transducer shaft?

The MEGA 360 Ultrex shaft is 35 1/2" from the wet switch to the top of the shaft.

You read my mind!! I was wondering how long they were. Now the next question about that is, where is the wet switch?

Are all the MEGA 360 shafts the same length, Ultrex and Fortrex?

I have a 54" Terrova and wonder if I could use an Ultrex or Fortrex MEGA 360.

The wet switch is on top of the pod 2" below the top of the direction pointer.

The Fortrex shaft version is 12" shorter.

If you are planning on the Cornfield Crappie Gear mount, you can probably use either shaft length.

This is the two shaft lengths, 360 on the left with the Fortrex shaft, and MEGA 360 on the right with the Ultrex shaft. When I got the 360 Fortrex to Ultrex conversion kit, I did not change to the longer included shaft.

Look for the 2 shiny small stainless steel round dots about a quarter of a inch apart at the top of the round puc for the wet switches. Ultrex shaft is 39” long.

I wish I could find one with out their "universal mount"! Pretty lousy design in my book, as said by an old engineer!

Whats not to like? I just looked at their site. They use that same mounting for some pretty heavy stuff. By the way, your nemesis here! Old Mechanic!

Not a nemesis! I am mechanically inclined, I screw things up. I'm not doubting that is a good product, but I do not want my $1100 transducer hanging out the side of the boat. I think I can do better, in process!!

    Quick Question:

I have a Helix 9 Mega SI G2N and a Helix 10 Mega SI G2N. The boxes say 360 compatible. When I look online for the 360 the text reads G3N compatible. Just want to be sure that the current 360 will work with my units.

    Thank you,

They are compatible with the the original 360 .... not the Mega 360.

You have to have a Mega SI+ or DI+ unit to run the Mega 360 ... which are all G3N. If you have one of those to connect the M360 to, you can share the data to a G2N.
