Chip all the excess epoxy from around the transducer, place a piece of wood against the side and whack it will a hammer.

TEST it on the water with water in the bilge to determine the best location for sensitivity and high speed depth, BEFORE attaching it to the hull again.

No, there should not be much if done correctly. Just sand it some to get a rough surface.

Yes you will but the odds are you will need a new transducer. Unless it comes out very easy the jolt of hitting it will cause damage.

Before you try again, test the transducer in the water on a lake to see if it works fully. Then do this.

Read post #2 at least twice so you understand how to do it properly:

I just purchased two 1199 hdsi units. These are a huge upgrade from what I have now. I am putting one on the trolling motor and one at the console. One question I have is ,can I use the transducer that came with the unit on my trolling motor? Or do I have to purchase a different one? Thanks

Yes that transducer is a transom model and trolling motor model. Just a different mount.

Refer to the pictures I just posted here:

Make sure you scuff the transducer and boat with sandpaper. Then clean the area with Acetone before installing.

Ima do it right this time even if it takes all day on the water. Do yall just get a bucket of water and pour it in the bilge area?

Yes, you need at least a gallon of water, maybe more so the transducer stays submerged at all boat attitudes. The water gives solid contact between the transducer and hull since water cannot be compressed.

well I tried many different spots and found the best spot (which is were I already had it) Im pretty sure there is something up with my Unit itself. I unplugged the Ycable and connected just the transom mount transducer and it still reads the same ( no fish symbols) I drove around the lake slow so I can get a good reading with the transom mount.

I currently have a 998si and a 788cihd installed. I am going to purchase 2 helix 10's and 360 as well this winter. What are my options when it comes to networking the units? The 998 and 788 are networked to share waypoints currently.

I'm not sure what the limit is but I have run 5 units, Ipilot Link and 360 without a problem. I have one Ethernet Hub at the console and one at the bow. The bow one is tricky and not all boats have a place to mount one. I actually hold mine in place with the foam Ranger uses in their boats.

The Bow hub saves me a lot of cable running to the console.

From what has been posted back when the hub first came out, there is no limit to the number of devices that can share data through a hub/s. You can daisy chain as many as you want to get the connections you want. You just loose one device connection for each hub with the connection between them (8 devices with two hubs, etc)

No Limit because you can stack 5 Port switches by connecting Ethernet Cable from one port of one switch to the a port on another switch. For Example: First switch you can have 4 Ethernet Accessories or Units then port 5 can go to port on second switch add 3 more units and use 5th port to connect another switch and keep stacking as many unit and accessories you have. It's only limited by the money and number of units or accessories you have or want.
