My guess is that isn't drining water .... just froze some ice in bottles to cool down the livewell water.....Those bass must have been smarter than the average bass.

    Back to the screenshots!

Scanning down a marina dock (the vertical line on my right). A crappie school at 2:00 roughly 65 feet away

I pulled up to the closest slip next to the boat (hull ridges visible on my right). The ridges on the left are the hull of the boat in the next slip.
Crappie schools can seen at the end of both slips under the center walkway
As you can see, I fished there for over and hour shooting to them as the moved around under the docks

How to determine if fish on sonar are crappie or shad. Especially if fish are not near structure like bridge.

Typically crappie will school vertically in open water and are larger:

Shad will be more of a ball shaped or horizontal school unless disturbed by predators, also a lot more of them:

    Wayne P.

    Thanks for pictures
I fish the Occoquan river tidal section that has huge mud shad that I have jigged up.
I thought the mud shad were crappie this happens especially in the winter when shad and crappie are schooled up.

I think jpschneid should confess that the marked up 360 image was made with an Onyx using a transom 360.
