Vinegar takes it off easily. No matter what acid you use put some wax on it regularly and it will clean easier
I have used every method. Some work, some don't. The easiest thing I have used is Hot Sauce. I buy it at Bass Pro. Spray it on a clean towel, wipe the white residue off, turn the towel over and wipe off any remaining residue. https://www.boatbling.net/shop/hot-sauce
I just did mine and used CLR and worked great. little elbow grease took some scrubbing but it worked

Lime Away / water--50%-50% Spray on, wait 1 minute, rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.
WD 40 works to clean that off and help keep other water deposit off
Duckys extreme hard water spot remover will make your JP look like new. Use a toothbrush to apply and let sit 3-4 min then apply again and wipe off! Amazing stuff. Dan

Water dog. Tackle warehouse. You can smell a little vinegar in it. Works great on waterspots on the Merc and the white stuff.

Lime away gel works like a charm as well. I even use on my gel coat for the hard water spots. Just wax afterwards
I like this...it also removes mud lines from white hulls really easily...

Use a sponge called Magic Eraser with any of these solutions. It really helps. There are knock-off no names at $ stores.
I have a buffer and wax crap out of it with cleaner wax, all gone.....

Use a phosphoric acid based bathroom/toilet cleaner...try not to use a hydrocloric acid. Hydrocloric with aggressively attack metals.
Coke had a food grade phosphoric acid in it...that's why your teeth feel funny after drinking it!
