    Ranger Bling & More

OK... figured I'd post some pics of my 492VS. I've put a few goodies on it to brighten it up. The fish seem to like it as they waste no time jumping in the boat

Seats redone, got rid of the cranberry/gray and rolls in the seats. New SRS seating in the rear, butt seat up front / all new pedestals

335HP 3.0L Mercury EFI Courtesy of Eric Simon @ Simon Motorsports (Makes the 492VS come alive... Best to date GPS: 75.3mph)

New Livewell system with pumpouts, thruhulls/bezels from Eddie Marine (CA). I built the switchplate out of 1/8" Aluminum and added the Ranger emblem and screw caps for a finishing touch. A little bit of 303 overspray gives it a oily look.

Redid the TM footpad to add a little bling effect. Used Red epoxy paint...

Added popup cleats to the front, as the boat never came with cleats up front

And of course my Bravo 1 B/B by Mark Croxton

I've put new windshields, jackplate, hydraulic steering hoses and components, Lowrance LCX-17M/102C/LCF1440 fishfinders... Only thing I need to replace now is the carpet and redo the bunks

Of course pulling a 15.48lb Largemouth out of the livewell is .... Priceless

I figure for a '97 it looks pretty good... it's got a scratch here and there, but that came from previous owners

what's not to like on this boat??? My favorite is the subtle touch of th red chrome thru hull bezels.

Matt, the thru hulls are candy red with dark burgandy bezels. They match my stripe pattern (Cranberry/Admiral Red Pins)

Re: Ranger Bling & More (492slayer)

Now that is one sweet looking Ranger. Hard to believe it's a '97.

    Great work on it.

Do you know how much it weighs? I figured with over 300 ponies the top end would be over 75 mph, but I don't know that much about the speeds of rangers.

    Great looking ride.

Re: Ranger Bling & More (rawhide)

Around 2000lbs for the hull... for a 22' Ranger, it scoots pretty good.

I was cruising the internet and found this post. I realize this post was forever ago and may I not get a response but I had to ask. 492slayer what’s the deal with this motor at 335 hp?
