    throttle roller/timing arm adjustment?

I have a 2004 carbee 150 Johnosn. It hae the clssic hot weahter carb bogging down on startup in heat of day sympthoms. Should I make the throttle roller/timing arm adjustment as recommended in pinned articel above? There is a 1/2 inch gap or more now.
