Use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive on the decals and they should pull right off.
Use some mineral spirits to get the glue residue off.
Some cowlings are reinforced plastic so any solvents you use to remove the glue, test on the inside of the cowl first to see if it reacts with the plastic.
Its a 2001 Merc 225 . ?
Thanks Basscat!

I just pulled mine off to get it repainted.
I used a hair dryer, they came off with a little elbow grease.
I ordered new decals from iguana grafix, sould be here anyday.
I could really tell were the stickers were, you will probably need to buff to hide the old decal markings.
