    Trailer starting to look bad...

How would you guys go about restoring a trailer that is starting to have some cosmetic rust showing up? I was thinking sandblast or grind all the old paint off, but then how would you go about repainting it?

I think its like a C channel frame...

Re: Trailer starting to look bad... (catfishkid)

Well.. I'm about to redo one myself. What I plan on doing is coating it in Naval Jelly a few times and then 2 Coats of Rustoleum Primer. Then apply my paint. Haven't decided what paint yet.

Someone else here may have a better solution.

What did you use for bed liner? A DIY product, or have someone spray it for you? Looks good!

I used the Duplicolor Bed Armor Kit. It was awesome. Used about half a gallon to go over most all of the trailer with 2 coats. Did it back in Feb, and it still looks as good today as it did then.

You're lucky you have a "C" channel trailer, guys with box frames usually take off the rust, and the trailer collapses.

I bought a boat that the trailer was done with the bed liner .. Not sure when the bed liner was put on, but I don't like it at all. It's really hard to clean and just doesn't look good. I'm in the process of redoing it and painting it..

So far this one has been a breeze. I have only had to clean it once and the spray it yourself carwash took care of it really good.

Wet sand real good , prime the bare spots and paint, not a bad job to do plus put new wood in the wheel wells and carpet .
