The Merrimuc at the "cornfields" in Concord is wide open. High water and runnin' pretty good but it is open. Spring has sprung!

    Re: River Report (JAZZ)

Just for chits and giggles I went and checked Rocky Pond and Potanipo, as they ice out pretty quick at the beginning of the year. Rock Pond (Hollis) is still completely iced in, couldn't see the northern end, but that may be opening up a bit. Potanipo is starting to open right in front of the launch, maybe 50 ft or so. Water is ripping over the dam pretty fast, so that should help clear out that area fairly quick.

Going to check back after this weekend, should see a lot more progress. In the mean time, there's the private pond in town that I used to fish when I was renting the past couple of years, and it's mostly open. That and there's a SMALL drainage "pond" that's mostly open, and already saw a bass cruising the shallows a couple of days ago. With some luck, I'll have first fish of the season from open water this afternoon. (well, out of the people I know in NH anyways)

    Workin's just one reason.

No fish. Hooked into a pickerel that picked up my jig right at the shoreline, but wasn't expecting it so it was a halfhearted hook set, and he spit and took off. Saw some cruisin' bass, I'll be sure to get one before the end of the weekend.
