    Northeast LA

Can we add these to the list? Since I never catch fish I won't be able to contribute much, but maybe some others will.

    Lake Darbonne
    Bayou Darbonne
    Ouachita River

    Re: Northeast LA (FishinSwabbie)

I'll help out here when I can. Not doing too much fishing right now. I've been in the woods a bunch here lately. But, with the weather we're having, I might have to hook up to the boat and see what I can do on the water since the deer hunting has been less than desirable so far this year.

    Re: Northeast LA (FishinSwabbie)

I didn't have any luck on the lake this last week, but then there were a number of fronts coming through during the week and the wind was up and out of the north and east for most of the time. I threw just about everything in the boat without luck.

From the folks I talked to, the white perch were doing well all over the lake.

The last time I was on the river I caught six decent fish on crankbaits (1.5 - 4 pounds). I fished north of Bayou Darbonne. I only fished in the mouth of the little cuts and lakes off the river. I used a splatterback Bandit 200 and an old, old, Bagley.

If I get out again this weekend, I'll post my latest.

As of today the river has fallen and the bass are on the main river banks. Bright Cranks and Plastic will catch'em!

    Re: Northeast LA (timmaahh12)

I figured it was time for an update since there hasn't been one for over a year.
Fishing on the river is good right now. The bass are chasing shad and will knock the snot out of a shallow running crank bait.

Been up in the creeks or mostly in the river?

    Really just curious of D'arbonne.

Got a tourney coming up there out of Monroe.

Darbonne has been good at times. The fish are schooling right now. You can catch 50 in a morning but it is tough to find the schools with the bigger fish.

    Re: Northeast LA (FishinSwabbie)

Ouachita River is at a virtual standstill with daily discharge @ 389 cfs compared to 3 year records for this day that show min (2008) @ 1520 cfs and max (2010) @ 63,600 cfs. Governor is trying to get ARK and the Corps to release some ARK water to increase flow for industry and municipalities to discharge "filtered" water. Of course, a little rain would help! Parts of D'arbonne bayou remain muddy as there has been little rain to flush the areas. River water temp today is 74.5 degrees.

Some schooling has been seen at mouths of river lakes. Find the big shad!

Welcome Federation Nation and the best of luck to ya...

We need rain bad. It's kind of scary we need rain so bad. I have forgotten how to fish current.

The river was pretty good this weekend. The bite was really good until around 8:15. Then it got pretty slow. Fished till 10:45 and caught 13.

The river has been good for me this whole month. I've been catching some good fish in the 2-3 lb range in the creeks. All on shad imatation baits. The shad have been moving back and forth from the mouth of the creeks to halfway back the whole month. You just have to use your electronics and find the shad. Once you do that then game on.

Hey gents. I am on the rig in Malysia right now. When I left it was sleeting and snowing. I can see on HAM Weather the Ouachita is quite full and flowing fast. What about D'arbonne; does it have a good flow over the spillway?
What is the average water temp and clarity. The last time i fished it (Gill's Ferry/Mixing Hole) about a week before the sleet hit, the water was muddy and around 46 degrees. Definitely gonna hit the lake after i get home on the 28th. Just putting my feelers out to develop the best plan. Thinking about putting in Corney and fishing toward the main lake from there for starters.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
