    Good deal!!!

OK, if you go north, try the Humble canals, which are right past the power lines on the right. It is a good bit of canals and it usually holds fish at this time of the year. It has plenty of wood, so spinnerbaiting, flipping and weightless lizards is the ticket. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Is the Bouf gas filed (the short dead end off the lake worth running to) from looking on google earth it looks like a nice spawning area.

No sir, that was not me. What color was the Rocket?

And Yella, yes that is a good canal. We need to get together and go there, I can show you a few more spring spots. That area produces some nice fish. I caught my biggest 6.7lbs last year in Des Allemands. There was a guy in another Houma club that caught an 8 pounder for a tourney. The area was better a few years back when Mud lake was full of grass beds, but that all has changed. The fishing is still good though.

Spawn has not hit D.A yet... fish are not on the beds... no grass in mud lake.. you may want to hit lake beouf..... once the spawn kicks in mid-march, go to Cataouche.

Re: Des Allemands/Salvador/Lake Beouf reports (barchief)

I am not fishing until next weekend the 24th. I was thinking (hoping) that it was going to start warming up. I guess I was wrong with that. Do you think the fish will be staging next weekend to get ready for spawn or do you think it is still to early for this area. I really do appreciate all of yall help. I may try to make a trip out there this weekend but my schedule looks pretty full already. Where should I concentrate at in Lake Cataouatche?

Re: Des Allemands/Salvador/Lake Beouf reports (yella225)

The 24th is still too early.. it doesn't usually kick in till the beginning of March. if you are in cataouche, just fish the edges of the grass or go into the tank ponds in the northwest corner of the lake. Just be careful when trying to access the tank ponds.. Stumps o plenty.. Idle speed...

One person caught plenty fish north of the hwy 90 bridge we went south with the rest of the club and caught 2 fish. One person went to Lake Cataouatche and only managed 2 fish but a lot nicer fish (2.5 pound range) then we had but the wind was blowing pretty good on the 11th. The only person to fill 5 fish limit was the one going north and he said he was culling fish and he was just over 11lbs.

Is the water low around the area? If the water is low how will it affect the fishing and traveling around Cataouche? I think I may run there from the launch next to the truck stop at hwy 90 this weekend.
