    Re: Bayou Black Reports (LACATAHOULA)

Fish BB say about 3 week ago. The fish were on! Hit the O-Grove and St. Paul's. Even though water was hi, we fished the points with the moving water. Red shad worm is the ticket! No topwater bite at all.

Fished the points off the Copasaw this afternoon.....caught a few knotheads. The area looks great...hydrilla is back and the fish are active. Gonna be a great spring.

    Re: Bayou Black Reports (Chad)

Went to Orange Grove area Saturday May 2 caught 32 lake runners. No bass though. But at least it was enough to eat, looking forward to giving better reports.

Any updates from Bayou Black recently? I've only gone twice this year there. Looking to go back soon.

Yeah, i would like to know too. My family lives in Houma and my cousin always gets excited to come up here and bass fish with me because he says there is no where to go in Houma. Then i found this thread.

I will be going down there around the 4th of July. What would be the best place to go on Bayou Black, and what would be the best tecnique in summer? Will the fish be deep there? crankbaits, plastics, spinnerbaits? Any help is appreciated.

BTW, i LOVE Houma. I love visiting there. Going to make my way to Academy since i dont have one within 300 miles. LoL. Plan on picking up some H20 cranks and maybe a Mettle reel. Make my way into New Orleans and go to the Aquarium or something, French Quarter maybe....

Went on Sunday. Great Weather, very calm, water was so clear could see the fish and cast right at them, they just wouldn't bite. They kept just chasing it around. Only caught 2. Disappointed

Travis, how far south did you go? I heard they are catching reds and bass down there.

Didn't go south much at all. Launched at Bob's Bayou Black Marina in Gibson. Went north in the Intercoastal to turtle bayou. Fished all that area.

Probably going to Bayou Black this weekend. Turtle bayou and Copasaw areas. I will let yall know how it is. I heard the water is dropping which will help a lot. It's not been to great over the past month with high water. I'll keep yall updated.

Went out there this past weekend. Water is crystal clear. You really can see straight to the bottom when the sun comes out. Very hot outside though. A few fish were hitting early but after that once it gets hot, it stopped pretty quickly. Caught a few goggleye and 2 bass. Bass were actually caught in the Copasaw canal in fairly muddy water. Just tried a couple random casts and hit some.

Find cuts and moving water. T-rigged worms, spinnerbaits and shallow cranks. If they are not in the cuts, go home. Not many options in the summertime.

Awesome. I was there late Saturday (7-11) from about 6-8 and nice bass were hitting. We ended up with 15 bass (2 of us) and about 15 other perch, goggleye. It's been good lately and not as hot in late evenings.

Made another trip to Turtle Bayou Saturday (7-25-09) w/ my brother caught 10 bass and 140 bream. Left when we couldn't put another fish in the ice chest. Took my 4 year old sun out Sunday after and in two hours he and I caught 63 and he caught his first bass man what a awesome trip! The fishing is on FIRE!!

    Re: (tgravo2)

All caught on beetle spin. I put a guy @ work right on the fish but he was fishing a jig w/ stopper and hardly caught any. It really was awesome for my son to catch fish like he did. He was very excited. I wish I could go back this weekend but my son is sick .
