Gotta love the beetle spin. It's my favorite bait. That's when it's fun.

Caught lots of bream and lake runners in the turtle bayou area(5-9-10). All caught on worms under a stopper.

    Hey "B$B",
I'm thinking about making a short day out at Bayou Black - any suggestions?

    Re: Bayou Black Reports (prbullet)

I was in that area this past Sunday (1-15-12), I was there mainly to break-in my new boat, but I did manage to stop and make a few cast in the Mandalay Refuge area. I launched @ Cannons and stoped to fish the second Mandalay canal off of the intercoastal. Caught 5 nice bass in a little over an hour and I was suprised to see that 3 out of the 5 looked to have eggs. I'm headed towards turtle bayou area this Sunday strictly to fish this time. Maybe this warm winter has the fish spawning early this year.

Fished Orange Grove yesterday (1-22-12) and done really well. It was a slow start and after an hour of not having a bite the fish just turned on. A friend and I caught over 20 nice bass. I trhrew back a 4 lb 9oz that looked to have eggs and kept 20 averaging just under 2 lbs. As long as we keep having these warm temps I expect the bass to be on for the next few weeks.

    4 lb 9 oz

The biggest is 3 lb 8 oz
