    Re: Bayou Black Reports (joeyd190)

Last year Thibodaux Blackwater used to host the open tournament in January. We always had between 80-110 boats. It was the first tourny of the year. Good Ole boys used to have the following weekend. If their reputation dosen't hurt them they should get a good turn out. Alot of people don't fish thier tourny because alot of fisherman complain about them(Good Ole Boys Members) fishing next to you or in front of you during the tourny. Yes this does come from experience 2 yrs. ago!!!

Nothing against any of them , but NOT a good thing to do when hosting an open tourny. Maybe I'll see you there, if not, Good luck & be safe!

Yea, that rain was miserable! We ran to Lake Long in that crap! It wasn't bad going there, it was comming back in the afternoon after the tempature dropped and it was pouring down! There were some pretty good stringers caught in the tournament.

    Re: Bayou Black Reports (joeyd190)

We almost ran that way too. I had caught a few fish last week over there, but my partner had caught some off of the Copasaw. We didn't want to make the long run for nothing, since we hadn't fished the area in a week and a half. The water temp was 51 and we couldn't get a buzzbait bite for sh*t. Last year in the same canal, same conditions we had 20.55# on a buzzbait. Well, we gambled and we lost. Congrats again man!

    Re: (BlackBlazer)

Water temp went from 58 to 63 today.

It was a good day, one fish right at 5 lbs and a few other 2-3 lb fish... and the usual knotheads.

And the first sunburn of this year...

    Re: (Rocket MaN)

Went make an afternoon trip to Lockport. These fish are frickin confusing. Almost all the fisherman this weekend caught fish flipping. I flipped a speed craw from 2-4 pm with 1 bite...14" male. I caught 8 on a spinnerbait including a 3.9lb female and 1 on a crazy shad from 4 til 5.

Also, all their fish were on the bank in 59 degree water.........today it was 64 and all the fish were 10 feet out. Oh well, it was fun anyway.
