Only kidding. Point is the lake has changed a lot in the last few years with all the grass. You almost have to re-educate yourself on different patterns. I'm fishing completely different then I did the last four years and this year is the best I've had.

Our club held quite a few evening tournamnets and it took 6-7 pounds to win a three and a half hour tourney more often than not. 19 pounds took the Relay for Life tournamnet with 18 in second.

Many evenings I had 8-10 pounds, it's just in the last few weeks that it really slowed down. All the above were caught on the main lake.

I don't know the river real well but know it better than a few years ago. I'll spend time fishing areas I comfortable with and watch the path others take to get up and down the river. I can run 8 miles or so now and intend to learn more this winter when the water is down.

looks like its been awhile since anyone has posted.
fishing has been tough this year, either im losing the touch on this lake or the different weather temps. are playing a role. the grass in the cave isn't helping either, choked out coves make it tough to fish, but ive been doin really well lately drop shotting in deep water.

Fishing this weekend 4/25 on Cave Run. Very windy and the water visibility was about 1'. Water temp from 58 to 61 degress. I had a 7lb and a 3.5 lb fishing a jig next to rock drop-offs. Here's a few picts.

I don't know how long the 7lber was because my golden rule is only marked to 22" and she was longer than that. The 3.5lber was 19" long.

Grab a lake map and head for a place called the flats. I work at a marina and a few fellas have been catching fish there. The river is a great place to fish but dangerous as it's full of flooded timber and the channel isn't marked. There are several creek arms that run into the lake that also have flooded timber and good fishing. Good Luck and be safe!

We went Saturday (6/11/11) and had 11lbs with one being a little over 5. The water was 78deg and 9ft above summer pool and dropping fast (1ft a day). Decent day on the water, had about 20 fish total, but not all keepers and enough to win the tournament we were in.

Went to Cave today and lake was on or close to winter pool, water Temp. was 59 deg. and fishing was tough, managed 3 total slot fish and a small muskie that hit a shakey head.

How has the fishing been this spring? Are the bass on beds yet? I assume a few have already spawned out? Gonna head down this week and havent been on the lake in a while. Any advice or info greatly appreciated. My son and I just hope to catch a few fish!
