The Lanier Bass Busters fished the first monthly tournament on Lake Lanier out of Little Hall Park yesterday. The main pattern was "TO STAY OUT OF THE WIND"! With the exception of crossing the Chestatee Bay most teams did not have too many problems with the wind or catching fish.

First place honors went to Emory Dunahoo and Alfred Westbrook with a total of 17.09. Emory and Alfred caught the majority of their fish on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in 2 to 10 feet of water. Emory and Alfred also had the big fish of the tournament with a 4.77 largemouth caught on a crankbait. Nice catch guys!

Second place honors went to Justin Bagby and Justin Beatty with a total of 14.70. The fish caught came from 10' to 45' on creepy crawlers, spoons and dropshots. All of the fish caught were scattered on different types of structure and water depth.

Third place honors went to Mike Faulkner and Bill Bostock with a total of 8.37. Mike and Bill caught their fish on jigs and dropshots from 15' to 45' and also reported that their fish were widely scattered.

Overall the tournament was very good and we had several new members fishing with us. The Lanier Bass Busters meet again on February 13th at Curt's Cafe in Oakwood GA at 7:00pm. The next tournament is scheduled for February 25th at Lake Hartwell. We are looking for new members to fish the 2006 year. Please send an e-mail to Justin Bagby at justin_bagby@yahoo.com for more information and a schedule for the 2006 year.

Best Regards, Justin Bagby
