T-rig worm, in the backs of the deeper creeks. Look for old wood.
Fished the 19th and 20th, nasty weather. Caught a few on the ole lip less crankbait. Nothing special, but two of them where full of eggs already, so.......... Won't be much longer, the bite will be on like donky kong.
Waters muddy and the sows are on beds I thing cause all we caught were bulls. The spinnerbait bite is working for larger fish, jigs around docks and cover will fill out your limit.
Fished Saturday 5/6/05 caught 9, 10 if you count the dink. Found them on secondary points in the creeks and docks in 5-8 feet of water.
Yep... Its been slow for me on oconee. In the last few trips I have caught only around 12 fish. The biggest was 4.5 lbs. I have been fishing docks with green pumkin worms. Most of my bigger fish are coming off of white/chartruse chatterbaits...
More chatterbait reports!??? Hey, if they work, use em. I appreciate the report craig. My club will be coming up there in October for a club Tx. I will be looking for more detailed reports in the future.
been catching good fish working the may fly hatch with pop r's.throw your bait into the bushes & shake until may flies hit the water.very soon you will see swirles from bluegill & then work pop r thru them.after that water melon candy trick worm along the sides & front of deep docks.
Thanks fred for the post!! I haven't ever tried it like that. We have a hatch here as well and its not something I have specifically keyed in on.
Just returned from a week on Richland Creek. Pearl fluke around shade under docks in evenings, then June Bug Ol Monster worm against the sea wall adjacent to deep water. 4.5 largemouth and 3.3 spot on the worm.
My brother and I fished Oconee yesterday till noon. Put in at Sugar Creek and fished from just above Sugar creek down to about mid-lake. We hit docks, humps, rip rap, channel swings........ name it! Only came up with 1 short fish. I decided to go down as I haven't been in several months and wanted a break from Lanier. Im ready for some cooler weather and more cooperative fish! BUT........ as always, its good to get out on the water!
Had a good weekend at Oconee 9/23-9/24. I won't tell you how or where I caught em until after the BFL next weekend.

Nice fish. Good luck in the BFL. Our club is headed up there Oct 14-15. Let us know how you do.
Very nice fish!! Like Glen said our club is heading up there in a few weeks. Hopefully I can catch a few pigs like that!!
I was 15th going into day 2 of the tournament. I caught my fish on a bandit 200 crankbait on mainlake docks and a Vertical Lures Jig X under those docks.
Day 2, I fell one place to 16th and all my keepers hit the Jig X under docks. The 1/2 ounce model skips under docks a little better than the 3/8 ounce. The extra weight allows for less effort and the quicker fall gets more reaction bites.
Good luck at your tournament.
(the fish in picture hit the jigx under a walkway)

That is waay too much info to be putting openly on the boards!!! Way too many people on here that fish with my club!!
You don't really think I'm serious about the MAIN LAKE boat docks do you? I'm trying to keep people away from my fishin holes!
