    Re: (Dink81)

Richland would be the place to start. much clearer after the rain

Secondary points were the place last time I talked with someone(1 week ago)

All the creeks on the Reynolds(west) side are good this time of year

Had a good morning. Points with rocks and sun is where we caught most of our fish. After the sun got higher, it was a carolina rig on long points and humps.

    Oconee 9-29-07

I havent been out since June and I had an itch to go this weekend. I wound up going to Oconee....... I havent been down there since March of last year. Anyway, it was a tough day for us. We put in at Swords at daylight and fished until about 530 this afternoon. Only boated 9 between us and only a couple were keepers. The biggest is in the pic. Fished from just above I-20 all the way down nearly to the dam. The only bites we could find were on the upper section in the more stained water. Threw a little bit of everything from deep to shallow water, banks to the humps. The fish in the pic hit a Yum grub on a Carolina rig off a main lake point. The bait was stacked up in the mouths of the creeks and the larger deep pockets. Maybe in a couple of more weeks the water temp will get em going.

Re: Report's For Lake Oconee (Tr21Pd)

Fished Lower end of Oconee 12/12/2007.. Caught 11 LMs with the largest being 6 1/2 lbs. Best 5 would have been between 14 and 15 lbs.
All fish caught on rocks or rip rap with dead grass nearby in fairly shallow water. Used a Spot Remover Pro jig head with Zoom trick worm. Water temp was in the mid 50's. Very little water movement from the dam. Clear skies and mid 70's.

Long Shoals ramp was very usable. lake level is down approx. 3.5 ft.

Good Luck with your next outing.

Fellows, Lake Oconee is heating up. Shad are in the backs of the creeks. The bigger fish are moving shallow and if you can find some stained water they will hit a/bs, c/bs and plastics in less than 3'. Had a great guide trip Thursday.

Re: Report's For Lake Oconee (PopsGA)

That is great to hear. I caught some serious weight last Nov in some shallow water. Is Oconee still low as it was last year or has it come back up? I was able to cast under docks last year.

Re: Report's For Lake Oconee (gcoxvb)

Went over Oconee on my back from Fred's house. That looks like a fun lake. Guess I need to get a map I keep seeing @BPS. Do the docks ever produce decent fish in the fall??

Re: Report's For Lake Oconee (Wind Talker)

Certain docks on Oconee can produce all year long. They have many fixed docks on Oconee unlike Clark Hill.

Re: Report's For Lake Oconee (gcoxvb)

Thanks Coach. Is this body of water pretty easy to run?? I s it marked well in the channels? I have a Garmin GPS 172C but my chiop does not contain Oconee or Sinclair. Just wanting to know how easy it is to run.
