Lucked out ordering that rod. It's a happy medium between target casting and mat casting. Can do both pretty well.

Resurrected from the dead.
I have the Toadface currently with an SV103HL (6.3:1) and blue 45# Fins 40G. Out with it once. Have to see how the reel works. May go with a faster ratio reel. Then again I may keep the SV103 on it as I don't often fish a frog and the Toadface is said to be very versatile.
My first dedicated frog rod (kept in Florida).
OG Tatula 7'4" HF
Curado 201E7
60# yellow Fins Original PRT (probably drop down to 50# next time line needs changing)
Too late for this old guy to read through all the posts. Will save that for another day.
BTW, I picked up a couple used older Excense DC reels. How do you like yours? Love mine the little I've used the one. Second still in box. :-(
this is a difficult one i fosh alot of clear open water i like the dobyns 735 for that but we go to the cali delta every year and i fish a 736 with a completely different frog so it all depends a slither k would be hard to fish on a x heavy rod but a bobbys perfect will be easy its all in how you like to fish and what type of lakes

My exsence dc is an older one as well and I absolutely love it for froggin', I've switched most of my reels from Shimano over to Daiwa but I won't give that one up, I would and might get another but I'm in no hurry to buy, just want to see what's popular and check out some options before I decide.

A glass rod for throwing a frog? Ive never heard of that whats the reason for you using glass
Right now I’m using a 7’6 H-XF Carbonlite 2.0 with a Tatula Type R, 50lb Sufix 832. It’s a flipping stick and a frog rod, not really suitable for much else!
